Grandson’s surgery is complete. Femur break has healed, menisci are good - no significant damage. ACL, MPFL and MCL all repaired. Overall a very positive outcome. Appreciate the prayers.

It's also making a lot of coaches wealthy. Guys like Kelly getting $54M to not coach LSU. Stoops got $37M to not coach Kentucky. It's crazy. The expectations for the coaches and the programs are unrealistic and literal tons of money being paid out. Athletics is a zero-sum game. Only half of the teams can win any given game, and of course the other half loses. So when Indiana goes 23-2 over 2 seasons where they were previously 7-17, that means other schools had to absorb those losses.

I picked up this lamp several years ago, and it sits on the corner of my desk in my office. At the beginning of the football season I had the thought that I could use this lamp to channel a Hoosier victory. So since the Old Dominion game on August 30, and for every IU football and MBB game, I light the lamp. So far, the lamp is undefeated.

Good coaches have schemes and develop players. Hacks focus on trickery and garbage and hope they can hang. The IU defense sniffed out the one trick play the toiletmakers tried on offense for a huge loss. The difference is coaching, preparation, talent and execution.
