Curt Cignetti Named Lee Corso Legacy National Coach of the Year Head Coach Curt Cignetti was honored last night as the inaugural winner of the Lee Corso Legacy National College Football Coach of the Year for 2025. The Award is given by the Positive Coaching Alliance whose mission is to ensure that every young person benefits from a positive youth sports experience with a coach who inspires them to become the best version of themselves in the game and in life. The award is named in honor of former IU Head Coach Lee Corso who not only had a positive impact on his players while coaching, but also a positive impact on college football during his time on College Gameday from 1987-2025. This is the kind of stuff that (1) pi$$e$ me off, and (2) I truly don't understand. What's the deal with grown men who have been playing professionally for several years being eligible to play "amateur" (??) college basketball with 17- and 18-year old kids? "Fairness" notwithstanding, what's the deal with this?

Man, do I feel that pain. Absolutely hate that pick.

There was very little doubt of that from the get-go. He had no clue what he was in for with the college game and certainly with regard to recruiting. Thank the Almighty that NIL was a thing, otherwise, I wonder what kind of talent he could attract. But as DeVries told us, a team is much more than a collection of players. Fit is important, team chemistry is critical as well having a basic scheme of how he expects the team to play. Thankfully, that nightmare is over. We can hopefully forget what a disaster it was and focus on Coach DeVries and what appears to be a promising sophomore season.

I feel the same way about ‘Nando and the Raiders.

So, when will they call the Mighty Midget's name? Hey, Diego, no need to hang around here for a couple of days.

The two we got last year were massive busts. One played a couple of games and the other never saw the court.

Would be interesting, indeed, if said schools had already filled their rosters... portal closed... how many would be shut out or redirected (forced) to lesser schools... would definitely be fun to watch.
