Indiana vs Morehead State Game Thread
MartintheMopMan replied to BlueDevil's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
They have a good defense. So, 10-15 would be more realistic. -
I hate UNLV right now. You know who my secondary basketball team is? ***** ***** ************* Oregon!

Random IU FB Recruiting Info

Are you posting the tweets from your phone or computer? If computer instead of hitting ctrl-v to paste hit ctrl-shift-v for plaintext. If from the phone I would need to know what kind it is. -
I think it doesn't matter if he wins or loses. Especially the cupcakes we play (including one of the weakest schedules in the Big Ten). I don't know how you can think we would keep him after missing the post season again. I could see this team ending up in the second weekend and still not keeping the coach. It's one thing while there are still large groups supporting the coach, but now there simply aren't. The day Kravitz turned is the day you know there are almost no sunshine pumpers left. It's over. And I would be surprised if there was anyone left who doesn't realize it.

The most efficient game Duke's had in 15 years.

... That about sums up the issues with the team doesn't it? -

Suds up for Senior Class Award...VOTE!

That's amazing! I'm so genuinely elated for him. I mean, he almost certainly used to attend the East West Shrine game as a kid and learning how to play. I'll bet he spent years watching people and dreaming of being there. He may have even watched Tom Brady play in it. This is a big big deal to him and I'm really glad he got some of the recognition he deserves. -

IU vs Duke Post Game Thread
MartintheMopMan replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Well, except for all the times when he isn't spot on and is just acting like a raging asshole who has such a monstrous ego he needs the entire world to bend over and feed it on a constant basis and willing to bend the truth in whatever way he needs to fit his agenda (of getting to have his ego fed by everyone in the entire world). Other than that though. -
http://assemblycall.com/shows/iu-duke-postgame-show-2015/ The part about defense is towards the end. Maybe, 15 or 20 minutes left. It was about when I was entering the bridge line and I think ended just over the bridge, so that tells me around 15 to 20 minutes. But, who knows? I love them, they're one of the only post-game shows I've found with analysis from people who understand basketball (looking at you Crimson Cast). Though, there are a surprising lack of Indiana basketball (and football) podcasts in general.

btw, whodey, first, thanks for the info, you're on your way to earning your own recruiting title. Second, I think screenshots of the tweet might be my favorite tweet posting method. Followed by plain text. Followed by what everyone else does and doesn't show up on the app. -
I like this, because I think Guyton should be a part of the program. But, I don't like this, because I don't see the program ever realizing that.

The post-Duke Assembly Call had a great segment on how he needs to look at what he's doing and do the complete opposite. Just stop trying to do it himself and either delegate it to someone else in the staff or find another way to teach the defense because it is obviously not working. They're right. I don't know what is going on in practice, but I think we are good on gameplanning and offensive work until Notre Dame. Let's only do defensive drills for one kind of defense. Actually, that whole Assembly Call is very very good if people don't normally listen. They're a fairly optimistic group, but the way they breakdown the failures in coaching over the past few years and the feeling of disappointment and sadness in the hearts of IU fans is great. Jerod has a great speech at the end about how much it sucks to be a fan right now and how it shouldn't.

Oh good. I was worried no one saw that.

IUBB Pick'Ems Game #9 vs. Morehead State

This is the best time to play! For a few weeks you get to build a lead while half the people are too disenfranchised to play! -

And if we aren't worried about academics or a clean program, we can just call Kelvin Sampson up. -
ARGH the Crimson Guard! The freakin' organization specifically set-up to do all the crib sheets and chant writing I complain about constantly and only occasionally sets up free shirts. That you have to pick-up in tiny hour windows halfway across campus. Do they send you who the officers are? Because they are the worst and I want you to punch them and put their hearts in your fanny pack.

I don't know if that's enough said though. I agree, the program has been reduced to a "tradition of excellence" instead of being a program of excellence. But, we still pull the recruits we do, we still field the talent we do, we still have fans show up, get national attention, get ranked without doing much to deserve it, and get high expectations placed on us because of those 30-year-old banners. The job isn't some pit without any resources, it's been (thanks in large part to Tom Crean) brought back to being a hotbed just ready for the right direction to explode with glory. The talent on this team could hang a banner. The talent on this team is here in no small part because of the name on the front of the jersey. If you're an elite coach and you don't want to go to a program with the resources, recruiting bed, and name recognition of Indiana, a program loaded with young talent ready to shine and who keeps showing you can miss the NIT and still recruit burger boys, well then you were never the right fit for here anyway. A coach who looks at Indiana and can't see its potential is not a coach I want.

You're right. That is a good article. Sheds light on startling statistics too I hadn't looked at yet. Duke had 1.52 ppp. That's outrageous. We had 1.19 which is just shy of Georgetown on a neutral court who lost by 2 points. 1.52 ppp is just... stunning. It's almost what we had against Alcorn State. We were the Alcorn State to Duke. Coach K summed it all up. “For a period of time there, we just kind of scored.”

If anything way too late. When does the dead period start? The 13th or 14th? He needs an extension in hand to take to the remaining players on the fence.
