  1. Troy getting drafted is going to entirely come down to his ability to convince NBA scouts his current issues are the result of coaching. If they believe he wants to improve but has not been provided the resources he needs, they'll grab him on potential alone. The game changes a little if he would return to a different coach for his senior year. They might encourage it to see if he is capable of change with improved coaching. I think he's still very draftable to the right scouts because all his downsides are teachable. You can't teach his athleticism or speed.
  2. Fair point. Rutgers did fairly recently, I feel like I remember looking at them prior to our match-up. But, generally, everyone wants to pretend a ticket sold is a butt in the seat to brag to recruits about their numbers. Just like Assembly Hall is always sold out even though you can hear the bats flying around the balcony through the camera.
  3. Do they release turnstile numbers? Tickets sold is frankly useless when they're bundled with basketball tickets for students (unless they stopped doing that).   I disagree. I think we don't start selling out consistently until we have 9-10 win seasons, but attendance will still increase. It's not fun going and watching a team you know will lose. When there is a chance the team will win, people are more engaged and will attend more games. It's all about getting some excitement in the program.
  4. I'd be interested in the attendance numbers this year if they're available. I suspect we had a good showing from Indiana fans at Ohio State and Rutgers. Rutgers kind of killed fan dreams. I suspect our numbers were still higher.   Sustained winning is huge. Show fans they aren't coming just to watch Indiana lose and some of the culture will change. A huge part of this is making a better showing in the second half. Fans who do come frequently leave at halftime to resume drinking because the second half collapse is fairly inevitable. By showing fans the game isn't over until it's over, more will be willing to show up and stay.   I predict our numbers will look much better next year because of this year. If we can win 6 or 7 (at least) again, we can expect that trend to continue positively.
  5. Hey, if the offense hadn't done it, those eggheads were going to bring us to a bowl game. So, we should all recognize how important it is to be student athletes and not athletes who are students.
  6. I don't understand the second half, but he was obviously injured the entire game. He shouldn't even be playing.
  7. Hey, you say you guess, but can you imagine if you'd paid 10 bucks for this game?
  8. Talk about it. Or I mean, don't. What is there to talk about?   I said it in the game thread too, but the best part about this game is I was not required to pay attention to it. Bad news for our resident announcer and contributors.
  9. Sure glad we have Thomas Bryant limping around the first half and then taking bad spills the second half.   No way we could win this game without him on the floor after all. Better makes sure he plays 40.
  10. Yeah, the double-lag for streaming BTN+ is awful. This is one of the worst sites for lag too.   That's the cost of unpopular and hard to find games.
  11. I'm just glad I'm not announcing the game so I don't have to pay close attention and pretend there are positive things to say.
  12. Because they've built a program over the course of years which consistently competes at a high level allowing them to easily recruit the players they want to fit their system and execute at the top of the league every year?
  13. If Thomas Bryant is in pain then why is he playing?
  14. Bryant didn't even look like he knew he blocked it.
  15. Who cares? If JBJ and ROJO can't keep fouls under control in this game, then let them foul out and think hard about it when they can't play. Even if they did foul out, we all are hoping we won't need starters for the last 10 minutes of the game.
  16. It obviously does make sense, but I don't think you'll learn if I just tell you about it. So, you explain to me why it makes sense.
  17. They changed how they do the stream linking, so let me know if this links to it. http://zunox.hk/sstv62frame.html   With ublock on (so I don't know if there are other ads) the first ad's close is the blue X in the upper left. Second is the red close bottom center. Third you wait for the timer and close with the x that appears.
  18. Oh coon, I can tell you took Sex Ed. in Indiana! You don't have to be married to have a baby silly goose!
  19. I'm with Alford Bailey. When I have to listen to Fisch, I enjoy him, but Basketball (like most sports) is inherently visual so I'll always prefer video.   What would be best is if it wasn't so difficult to sync up Fisch and the video so I could replace the announcers. I mean, not in this game of course since we have a poster on the call, but normally. It's a shame they work in a delay.
  20. Technically, they're our child not our sibling. Though, your point remains the same.   Unless we think of the parents as the state of Indiana. But, then Purdue and Indiana are siblings who had a child who is also their sibling. Yucky.   Maybe that flies in Southern Indiana when it starts to get a little Kentuckyesque, but not in South-Central Indiana!
  21. I made this the game thread, because it's pretty much how the game thread should start in this game (clarifying how to watch).   Go nuts guys.   I'll kick off the non-TV portion...   I'm so tired and bored of cupcakes and meaningless non-conference games. How much energy are we supposed to muster to either watch us wallop a weak opponent or look bad against a weak opponent? There is no outcome to this game which can make us say "Hey, team's great now"   It's tiring every season, but frustrating this year when we still are wondering who this team really is.
  22. There will almost certainly be a stream posted in the thread. By me. But, it may be after tip-off depending on traffic going home. Or the link may get posted but the pattern for the ads won't and you'll have to guess until I can get home and figure out what it is.   Take this time to update your adblocker (I recommend ublock origins for Chrome) and active virus protection. Only the scummiest sites carry this kind of thing.
  23. But, as a consolation, we'll put our own RonJo(h?)n on the call.
