I’ll almost always root against the SEC, but I make an exception when it’s Notre Dame. Should take them out of the playoff picture.

None of these SEC teams are anything special. They all received undeserved high rankings to start the year, though, so they’ll only slightly drop as they beat each other throughout the year, and then Finebaum will flap his ears at the end of the year to demand that 12 SEC teams make the playoffs and that IU gets sent to Siberia for its bowl game.

Don’t worry, LSU is already ranked #3 in the country from the sheer awesomeness of its 23-7 win over Louisiana Tech and its 17-10 win over Goliath Clemson.

I get that lots of teams do it, and when this game was scheduled IU was in “limp toward 6 wins anyway that we can” mode, but I’d like a little tougher non-conference games moving forward. This game is pointless.

If you’re Coach Cig, is Florida even that appealing of a job? If his goal has always been a “name” school then we can’t compete with that. But it’s almost the iubb problem for Florida. They’re in a conference with Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Texas, and that’s before you get into school like Tennessee, Oklahoma, Ole Miss. The fans expect SEC and national championships. Florida would be way more pressure, and for what? (Assuming IU is giving him whatever he asks for). If Cig was 50 years old I think it’s a totally different conversation, but he’s 64.

Iowa has an incredible knack for making every game they play boring as hell.

Plot twist, Coach Cig didn’t say a word and just stared menacingly at them for 20 minutes.

A lot of it is sloppiness, which fortunately can be fixed, but yeah I expected us to pick right back up from last year by thrashing these cupcake teams. The Illinois game will tell us a lot.

We’ve looked more like a 7-8 win team so far this year. After making the CFP last year, I now completely understand Alabama fans who get mad when they don’t win a national title. This time last year I’d be ecstatic about a 7-8 win season, but this year I’ll be disappointed with anything short of like 10 wins and a playoff berth.

It was a terrible game for IU in so many ways, but at the end of the day IU won and escaped without any injuries, so on to the next one.

The one bright side is we know Coach Cig will be more pissed off than all of us combined. He may lock the players in the film room until next Saturday.

Ok we still look good thankfully, think that was just a freak opening play. It gave me nightmare flashbacks to Tom Allen 2021.

People warmed back up to Crean in part because Woodson was such a disaster/ahole. Woodson’s not changing his stripes in his late 60s. Maybe the old timers will warm back up to him, but he earned his reputation with the under 45 crowd during his coaching tenure. I’d prefer for him (and Buckner) to never set foot within city limits again. (not calling anyone over 45 an “old timer,” just using that as a divider of people who would have no memories of Woodson as an IU player).
