On the bright side, maybe a bad finish and missed tournament will move me farther up the season ticket waiting list lol.
-
I was hopeful after that stretch earlier this year that we could make the tournament, but this season was decided more or less before summer workouts even started. Roster construction is everything, and we didn’t put together a good one. We’ll see what this portal brings.

Season tickets have been secured!!! So pumped. Very reasonably priced too, imo, coming off a natty.

Agreed with some comments on Twitter. With a blowout like this, it’s time to stop giving a Super Bowl autobid to the AFC.

Woodson was an *** and his players were openly combative with the fans. Archie ball was miserable. Crean’s last season was miserable. It’s been a decade really since I’ve actually enjoyed watching IU basketball. Idk if Devries is the guy or not. Time will tell. But I like him. He’s a normal guy. I think he’s good enough that he can at least get us back to making the tournament every year if he can land adequate talent. I like the guys on the team. They’re all easy to root for. I’ve actually had fun watching the last few games. It feels good, it feels good hearing a loud Assembly Hall, it feels good seeing the players interact with the fans. We won’t ever get back to where we were in all likelihood, but hey I wasn’t alive for that anyway. Just making the dance most of the time would still be better than what my IU fandom has been.

IUFB Offseason Updates
Hoosierfan2017 replied to ThompsonHoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Probably a dumb question, and the answer might be “you can’t,” because of the increased demand, but how would I go about buying season tickets for the upcoming season? I’m likely moving back to the Indy area in late summer and want to get season tickets if possible. I’m an IU alum if that matters/if there’s a different process. Worst case scenario I just get gauged by stubhub next year, but would appreciate any insight. -
Helluva win last night. The team needs to figure out wtf it’s doing against the press, but they could’ve easily folded after regulation but didn’t. Dorn’s emergence really transforms the team. There’s a clear path to the tournament for the guys now. Just gotta stack one game on top of the next and keep it moving.

I’m mad 8 months in advance about the aka Big Noon Taliban, ruining the IU/OSU game.

Luckily for us, with how stupid a large segment of college football media is, it’s likely that we’ll continue to be doubted next season by the same goobers who doubted us until the very end of this past season.

#1 INDIANA FOOTBALL 2025 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

Purdue fans go to the gym?? -
When Coach Cig took over IUFB, the stadium would be half full at best for games. Instead of whining about how bad our fans are, he built a juggernaut that led to a 95/5 IU peach bowl crowd and then IU fans outnumbering Miami fans in the national championship in Miami’s own stadium. Instead of doing the same thing, Mike Woodson paid guys to trash the fanbase. IU fans are some of the best in the country and I’m just sick of mediocre former players who accomplished nothing at IU trashing the fanbase. Sure there are bad parts, some people go overboard on social media, but that’s in no way unique to IU or worse than what they’d get at other schools with expectations. The quickest way to shut people up is to win, but blaming other people is easier to do.
-
Some guys want the status without the expectations. They want to be big man on campus without getting any pushback for stinking it up on the court. You see it in the NBA all the time. Guys who just want to get paid and get shots without having any expectation of winning. Other guys handle the expectations, block out the noise, and win. IU football and IU basketball players are at polar opposite ends of the spectrum, and they likely have very different views of IU fans.
-
There are too many things for people to do these days for fans to grind through watching a mediocre IU team filled with players who fans feel no connection with. I was excited before the season because IU plays at Rutgers and I’d be able to catch a game in person. Now, though, I’m just going to pocket the few hundred bucks and have it on in the background while I watch Netflix or something. Does that make me a “fair weather” fan? Maybe, I don’t know. Every relationship is two-sided, even the fan/team one. If the team doesn’t give the fans something worth watching (I.e., IU basketball for the better part of this century), fans will lose interest.

Devries filled a team full of mid major players and forgot that size and athleticism were important parts of the game. It might not be quite so bad if Tucker was the player we thought he’d be, but he’s got a well-established dad bod and HPER court 10 athleticism. Spamming threes and hoping they go in is the only way we can be competitive against decent teams.

I don’t know how much he made at IU, but I saw on Twitter that Tennessee is paying him $1.2 million. -

Miami is almost disgustingly dirty. But if that’s how they want to do things, let’s give the 7th year sloth a taste of their medicine. -
Who here says they expect a national championship in year 1? This team doesn’t even look like an NCAA contender in year 1, and that’s a problem. In no way is it unrealistic to expect a coach to be able to come to IU and make the tournament in year one. Mike Woodson did it and he probably couldn’t name half the players on his team Devries had to replace an entire 13-man roster in part because none of his players or recruits (other than his son) wanted to follow him to IU, which was a red flag. He did a horrible job identifying players to fill the roster. What coach would see Enright and Bailey and think they’re big ten caliber starters? Frankly, I can’t even really tell if Devries is a good enough coach or not because he constructed such a terrible roster. And he’s going to have to rebuild the roster again this offseason because we’re losing most of our players (which isn’t really a bad thing). His high school recruiting has been underwhelming, too, which doesn’t inspire confidence for the portal. People can complain about the fanbase as much as they want, but the fanbase has been the only thing the program has going for it for the better part of the 21st century.
