“Vandy has wins against South Carolina, LSU, Missouri and Auburn. Those are all quality teams.” These SEC guys are all grade A clowns. Worshiping a conference the way that they do is just pathetic. The best team in the SEC got dominated by one of the worst teams in the ACC, but sure tell us more about how they’re all unbeatable juggernauts. I’d love nothing more than IU putting BTA against an SEC team in the playoff like OSU did to Tennessee last year.

I don’t either but I can’t think of a single thing/experience that private equity has touched and made better, so it’s a firm no from me.

There’s a 0.00% chance that IU would be ranked #10 in the CFP with Notre Dame’s resume. It’s ranked where it is for one reason and one reason only - its brand. ND is ranked 8 spots higher than the two loss team that beat it, and it’s also ranked above the one loss ACC that beat the team that beat ND. I generally think the ACC is a joke of a conference, but ND doesn’t play a murderers row of a schedule either. Frankly I think ND should be required to join w conference to participate in the CFP. Every year it plays one or two good teams (who it usually loses to), them a bunch of mid, and gets to hang in the mix because of its brand. We get to hear about how “Notre Dame’s on an X game win streak, no one in the country is hotter!” but that’s not exactly hard when you have no tough games after September ends. Teams in conferences will have years where their schedules break their way, but ND gets that advantage every year given its ability to choose all its games. Join a conference or get out, imo.

IU with Notre Dame’s resume wouldn’t even be ranked. I think I hate them even more than I do the SEC. Though them getting into the playoff and IU having the opportunity to put BTA would be great.

It’s been a decade since our last legitimately good basketball season. It’s been over two decades since we last made it past the sweet 16 (which we’ve done only once in the past 32 years). The Woodson hire showed IU wasn’t serious about winning, and the Devries hire showed that an established coach isn’t coming to save the program. Meanwhile we’re 20-2 over our last 22 football games and on the verge of our second straight playoff appearance. Add in the fact that college football is far more popular than college basketball, and I’d say we’re definitely a football school.

I want to win the conference, but I also don’t want a first round bye. Is that crazy? 25 days is a ton of time between games. Last year might’ve been a fluke, but all four teams with byes lost last year in the quarterfinals. Not a perfect comparison because Boise State and ASU had byes despite clearly not being top 4 teams, but still.

The bias in the rankings is what really annoys me. Why in the world is this mid Tennessee team ranked 14th and Oklahoma ranked 18th when Iowa isn’t ranked at all? They ranked basically every SEC team at the start of the season and then leave them ranked unless the bottom completely falls out.

IU beats a 4-3 Maryland team by 45 points - IU’s schedule is a joke, the Big 10 stinks. Georgia beats a 3-4 Florida team with no head coach by 4 points - what a great illustration of the depth of the SEC. It just means more.

LSU has been paying players for decades. See Shaq in the early 90s and likely others before him.

YouTube TV needs to figure its crap out by tomorrow. I subscribe solely for the multiview feature and no ESPN/ABC is really going to screw that up.

Hope we land another stud QB in the portal. It’s kind of like the debate we had last year with TJ. A star QB just raises your ceiling so much. Just look at Michigan last year as an example of a bad QB situation capping your potential. Not saying Alberto is as bad as Michigan’s quarterbacks last year, but he’s definitely not as good as the ones we’ve had the past two years.

Idk how good of jobs LSU and Florida really are. Especially Florida. Mullen went 34-15 and got fired. BJ was 34-14 with 3 bowl wins (to the extent that even matters now) and got fired. 9/10 win seasons aren’t enough for those fan bases and the leashes are very short. Of course, Franklin got fired 9 months after making the semifinals, though, so that’s worrisome for candidates too. Of course top head coaches are football sickos who don’t think this way, but the Penn State job seems less stressful. There’s like 8 SEC schools that expect to win nattys every year.
