Give Crean the benefit of the doubt for the first two seasons, but not the third. We shouldn't have been worse in year 3 than we were in year 2.

If Crean can't find another job then that should show Glass that he isn't a good enough coach to keep. If the Missouri's of the college basketball world don't want him, why the heck should we? Agreed though that it shouldn't be our problem in the first place.

Yeah those 2012 and 2013 classes had quite a few bad apples. That was my main problem with Sampson too. Crean seems to have moved away from those kind of kids at least, I'll give him that much. I like having guys on the team that I don't have to look past off the court issues to root for.

"Cheating" recruiting wise doesn't really bother me much. If we have to skirt a few lines to be elite then I'm okay with that. The other top programs are all doing it. I don't want troublemakers though. I want kids that go to class, stay out of trouble, etc. once they get here.

Exactly. If Glass can watch the product on the court, see all the empty seats in Assembly Hall, and see the direction recruiting is heading and still keep Crean for next season, then that shows me he isn't serious about wanting IU to be an elite program. Getting mad and still caring at that point would just be a waste of time and energy.

Not as many as you might expect imo because a lot of people would just give up before then.

Maybe firing Crean has been his birthday wish all year so that's why he waited until today to do it.

Ahh okay, I was just curious about how he's been doing up there. Being able to play him alongside Vonleh would've been great, but if he stayed TB might never have came so it all worked out in the end.

What makes you say he hasn't panned well at Marquette? I haven't watched any of their games so idk what he looks like playing for them, but at least stats wise his numbers look pretty similar to Thomas Bryant's.

The Fischer rumors made me really dislike a few of our players and lose a lot of respect for Crean. Hanner's my #1. Not only was he incredibly underwhelming on the court, but it seemed like he had a hand in most of our off the court issues as well.

I really wish that would've been the case. I don't think it would've been an NC State scenario where things get ugly. The fans would've been able to come out and thank Crean for the things he's done without worrying about him being brought back next year.

I feel like we've already lost momentum though and the only way to bring it back is a fresh coach roaming the sidelines. There's not much else to root for at this point in our lost season. Crean is heading toward his 3rd rebuild here and recruiting has been slowing down the past few years. Have fun at the BTT! DC is one of my favorite cities.

I don't have much faith in him doing that either, but at least there's a chance he gets it right and we become a top program again. That's better than what we've got going for us right now.

The "true Hoosier" stuff is crap. Fans have been hoping their teams tank to improve their fortunes for a long time. I want us to tank because I'm sick and tired of watching sloppy, undisciplined basketball. I'm tired of watching us get beat in recruiting battles over and over again and having to settle for our third and fourth options. I'm tired of watching IU finish 5th or worse in the conference in 7 of the last 9 years. I have no faith in Fred Glass firing Tom Crean so I want things to get to the point where firing him is the only option he has. I disagree with some people's views on the best way to get a new coach, but I don't get on here and say that they're not "true Hoosiers." Rooting for wins no matter what doesn't make you anymore of a Hoosier than the guy rooting for a collapse so a change can finally be made. We all seemingly want the same thing, we just have different opinions on how to get there.

Yeah like it sucks rooting for L's but I can't hope we win while also hoping for Crean to get fired because they're not both going to happen. And he's shown he won't win nearly enough to be worth keeping around. Idk, I understand other people have different feelings about this but rooting for wins doesn't make sense logically to me at this point.

I just really don't understand hoping for wins while also hoping for Crean to get fired. Like we have to lose, and lose a lot, for him to be gone. Otherwise Crean stays and we're stuck in mediocrity forever and that's the worst place to be imo.

This sucks. Wins do absolutely nothing at this point except give Glass reasons to keep his homie Crean.
