  1. Best student section in the country lol #sloppyseconds
  2. I do find it interesting that Banchero was arrested too and that it was his car. A sober person letting their drunk friend drive their car while they sit in the back doesn’t seem likely to me. Imo, the most likely scenario is that Banchero was more intoxicated than Coach K’s grandson so they decided he’d drive the car. But, who knows.
  3. Maybe the grandson was the fall guy? (hi Cris Carter)
  4. I definitely wouldn’t buy from the IU athletics site unless you hate your bank account. The same caliber of ticket IU is selling for $48 a piece for the St. John’s game can be had for $6 on stubhub. Edit: just saw that you wanted Jackson State tickets. IU will sell you four tickets in row 42 for $202. You can get four row 41 tickets for $80 on stubhub.
  5. I’m just a first-year so it’s been a large platter of grunt work for me, lol, but mostly investment banks/underwriters so far. As much as I love IU home games and the advantage from the crowd, I almost wish this game was a home one for St. John’s so that I could go.
  6. I thought I’d go ahead and make a thread for general discussion on the team/season. Also, this doesn’t really fit with the theme of the thread, but oh well! Coach Woodson has talked to the Knicks about playing a game in MSG. Would be pretty cool to play a marquee program there in a few years.
  7. Don’t really like stealing his thunder but it’s actually, dare I say, a good video. Hated when we had to do cup stacking in PE class though
  8. Thanks man! I’m doing securities litigation
  9. Thanks man! Lol! Very true. Thank you!
  10. Looking forward to it! First game I get to enjoy after finding out I passed the bar exam, so I’ll actually get to enjoy the game without a feeling of impending doom, lol.
  11. IU basketball will always be more popular than IU football, and especially so when the football team is 2-8. The iufb season is all but over, no point in Dakich wasting even a second talking about it.
  12. They absolutely will. They’re the biggest beneficiaries of this policy because they don’t have to be secretive anymore. The ‘gray area,’ isn’t going away, it’s just going to look different than before. The IU administration will force us to keep driving the speed limit and we’ll get left in the dust. We do have some shade on our staff, though, which does make me feel a little better.
  13. Not really. Northwestern was coming off four straight winning seasons, four straight winning conference records, and three straight bowl wins. Prior to 2019, Northwestern had made 9 bowls in the previous 11 seasons. They were an established program that had a down year. Allen still has to show that he’s more than a flash in the pan coach who took advantage of a down Big 10 and incredibly unusual circumstances last year. He’s two for five when it comes to making making bowl games, and he lost both of the bowl games.
  14. I would be more willing to accept the injury excuse if we looked good at some point in the season and then started struggling because of injuries piling up. To the extent injuries explain anything, I’d argue it only does for the defense. The offense has been awful since the first game of the season. Sure, McCulley is a freshman and no one expected him to play this season, but he’s no Zander Diamont. McCulley is IU’s highest ranked quarterback commit in program history. We still have Fryfogle. We still have Hendershot. There’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to put together packages to move the ball on a team like Rutgers.
  15. That’s how it was reported, but at the time I honestly didn’t really buy into IU being this big NIL trailblazer. Even if we were first, other schools were going to do the same thing that we did, and you still have to find people willing to partner with our players. We have TJD and that’s about it. The big time programs already had these partnerships in the past. It was just under the table. IU doesn’t have any of that, so we were at a distinct disadvantage. If we succeed on the court we should do better in the NIL department because we have a huge fanbase.
  16. Lol. I don’t think message boards are the place for you. The only ‘inept’ thing here is Nick Sheridan’s offense.
  17. Eh, honestly I always felt that IU being at the forefront and leading the pack was a stretch that was sold to us but wasn’t really accurate. We’re coming off a 12-15 season, and we haven’t made the tournament since 2016. Our team is TJD + a bunch of dudes. At present we were never going to compete against schools with national reach like Duke/UK.
  18. Lol. We’re in 119th place in total offense and 117th in ppg. That’s out of 130 teams. We gained 233 yards and scored 6 points against Iowa before any injury woes. We’ve averaged 10.8 ppg against conference opponents. In the 6 non-Maryland games, we’ve averaged 6.3 ppg. But go ahead and keep riding so hard for Nick Sheridan. You might be the only non-family member in his corner (assuming you’re not a family member), but you do you.
  19. You don’t need extensive D1 experience to realize that Sheridan’s third down QB draw plays never work. I don’t know how anyone could watch him this season and see him as anything other than utterly incompetent.
  20. With the Kansas win today we’re one of two P5 teams without a P5 win.
  21. No one has said in this thread that Allen should be fired after this season (though most of our assistants should be). However, he can’t live off last season forever. This year, imo, cancels out the good built from last year. This year has been every bit as bad as last year was good. Now we see what he can do moving forward.
  22. Preseason rankings are nothing more than guesses about which teams are good and which teams aren’t. Penn State entered last season ranked #8 in the country. The voters thought they were a great team before the season started. They showed during the season that they weren’t. You’re trying to use rankings as proof that we beat good teams last year while ignoring that those ranked teams showed during the season that they weren’t actually good. If rankings were this foolproof measure of greatness then we wouldn’t even need to play the games. Just give the higher ranked team the win. Penn State was 0-0 when we played them last year. Michigan was 1-1. They were ranked because of their names, not because of anything they had done on the field during the season.
  23. Lol, does Iowa get to pound their chests about beating ranked IU this year then? Who cares that we’re 2-8, by god we were ranked when they beat us! The ‘ranked teams’ we beat finished the year 4-5, 2-4, and 4-3.
  24. I do watch college football in 2021. In fact, I watched college football today. I watched IU lose 38-3 against Rutgers. Rutgers is in the same division we’re in. They face the same challenges we face. And they destroyed us today. I’ve also watched Purdue beat two of the ‘unbeatable’ teams in our division this year. Bad teams sit around and make excuses about their schedules. Good teams show up ready to play.
