  1. You’re using UC’s bowl game from last year while at the same time arguing that ND’s past seasons aren’t relevant. Do you not see the irony there? And I’m not talking about ND’s playoff aspirations, I’m talking about them being UC’s best win. Notre Dame is another team that plays a weak schedule. It’s the same story every year with them. If UC was in the Big 10 East they’d have to play OSU, PSU, Michigan, and MSU. We literally played UC and they were less than impressive. OSU could’ve scored 100 on us. I think they’re a top 20 school, not a top 4 school.
  2. Not really sure what to do with these two contradictory statements. In any event, you either think UC is one of the four best teams in the country or you don’t. I don’t, so I don’t want to see them in the playoff.
  3. UC’s best win was against Notre Dame, a team that regularly gets blown out whenever they play top competition. Do you think UC is undefeated if they play Ohio State’s schedule this year? Because I’d bet that OSU would beat UC by 4+ touchdowns.
  4. 19% of D1 mens basketball teams make the tournament. 3% of FBS teams make the football playoff. I don’t want one of the four spots wasted on a team from a crap conference. If you want to start putting those teams in the playoff then expand the playoff.
  5. That’s what happens when you hire a high school football coach and an NBA basketball coach..
  6. They’re just asking the Purdue guys if they #LEO
  7. I love Gus Johnson. Great game. Be a shame if Cincinnati makes the playoff. Would rather see a rematch of these two teams.
  8. Did McCulley get hurt? Or did Allen burn his redshirt to start a walk on in the bucket game?
  9. Yeah, I don’t get it either. Like usually that’s something someone says when the person is this big and scary guy. Tom Allen isn’t this big and scary dude. There’s no reason to be ‘scared’ to say it to him. It would just be rude and unnecessary to say to his face. Allen knows this team sucks. He’s on the sidelines while they’re getting the **** kicked out of them every weekend.
  10. I think they banned it at some point between 2015 and 2021 actually.
  11. Same. If a team goes undefeated I want it to be a team that plays a legit schedule and has to go to hostile environments in conference play. Their conference is a joke, and they only play hard non-conference games at neutral sites. They’re probably tied with Purdue as the last team I’d want to go undefeated.
  12. Good to see Gonzaga go down early in the season.
  13. Just a different crowd with students on break. Can’t expect a grayer and more seasoned crowd to replicate a student section, but that’s why they play schools like Jackson State for those games.
  14. A playoff featuring both Cincinnati and ND would be absolutely dreadful. Neither team is close to top 4 in the country.
  15. You said “Bates is a 40 plus 3-point shooter” and then cited his high school stats. Bates isn’t in high school anymore. The line is farther back, the game is faster, and the opponents are more athletic. Until he does it in college, it’s speculation that he’s a 40+ percent 3 point shooter at this level and especially during this season. Right now he’s a 33% three point shooter. I’m not even arguing that he isn’t a good 3 point shooter. We’ve only played 5 games and he hasn’t taken all that many threes. But we can’t just assume he’s going to shoot 40% from 3 as a freshman and fix our three point shooting woes.
  16. But right now that’s just speculation. I certainly hope that Bates is a 40% shooter from 3 this year, but so far he hasn’t been. As a team we’ve been a pretty poor shooting team. We’re shooting worse from the line than last year and a little better from 3. Even with a great defense it’s going to be tough to be the kind of team we want to be if we keep shooting 34% from 3 and 65.7% from the free throw line as a team.
  17. 54 points in one game? Miss it. We’ve scored 52 points total in seven of our conference games, 87 points total in the conference including the Maryland game.
  18. The defense has been great, but we’ve also faced some weak competition. St. John’s is the only quality opponent we’ve played and they scored 74 points. I’m looking forward to seeing how it holds up as our schedule gets tougher. I don’t know how good of a shooter Leal is due to the limited sample size we have this year. All I’m saying is that if he’s capable of, for example, shooting 40% from 3 on good volume then you have to find minutes for him. You can’t have one of your best shooters riding the bench when your team struggles shooting the ball.
  19. I don’t know but hopefully he gets them soon. You can hide bad defenders when you have great team defense. The kid can shoot it, and that’s something we really need. Right now we’re 152nd in 3pt % and 279th in FT %. We need to improve both of those numbers. I’ve seen some good things from Woody and 5-0 is great but we also have quite a bit to improve on.
  20. I actually found myself agreeing with the Hoosier Hysterics when I saw the exchange. Such an odd thanksgiving, lol.
  21. It was his verified account. He went and deleted the tweets. I saw them before they were all deleted.
  22. That won’t happen because we aren’t going to lose any
  23. I want to see Woody coach a game in that exact outfit.
  24. I’ve thought his body looks more developed this year too. He’s still skinny but he’s not getting pushed around like last year. He’ll add on some more weight as his career progresses. I’m really excited about him. I think the sky is the limit for Khristian. The sample size is obviously small, but he’s a career 85.7% free throw shooter (12 of 14). Yogi’s first season he only averaged 7.6 and 4.1 assists in 28 minutes per game. Yogi also shot 30% from 3 his freshman season. He was on a loaded team so he wasn’t asked to do as much offensively as he was later on. You can teach a lot of things, but you can’t teach quickness or vision. Yogi had it, and I think Lander does too. He gets to go up against a great guard defender in Phinisee every day at practice, and he has a smart coach who will push him constantly. I think he’ll be an all conference guard before his college career is over in all honesty.
