  1. Yeah that interview sounded pretty positive for IU imo, I'm not sure what other people are freaking out about. Just more pessimists jumping to conclusions I guess. He said more about IU than any of the other 2 schools in that interview, and I feel like his answer was more thought out: "I like coach [Archie] Miller. He gets the best out of his players and he proved that this year. Even though they weren't that good of a team, having the best season, he got them ready for big games like Duke and stuff like that. And then they also got coach [Ed] Schilling. His individual development over the summer with guards, his resume says it all. He sent so many guys to the NBA when he was at UCLA. So those two are reasons I like Indiana."
  2. Mooney reminds me a bit of Sheehey in attitude and on-court demeanor. He had a welcome swagger, for the first 3 years he was here at least.
  3. And honestly, at the end of the day, it's just freaking basketball. It's not like anyone is getting hurt or anything.
  4. I read an interview a while back where Jerome said Archie told him he'll play SF.
  5. Some good stuff in your post, but this is not one of them. Fans of IU and CBB in general think Assembly Hall is cool for its history. Recruits do not. No matter what they may say to the media, they like newer amenities like updated locker rooms. And I'd be willing to bet it's more like 1% of recruits who don't care about what the locker rooms look like.
  6. Yeah, and it would be a severe kick to the balls if both TJD and Brooks end up at Purdue, after we get Watford.
  7. Dammit. He'll probably go to Maryland and be a complete waste.
  8. TJD to IU Romeo to Kansas
  9. Wow if we get Porter and Romeo/Taylor that would be quite an upgrade in talent. Hopefully Archie can make it happen.
  10. I'm glad it's these two. From the outside looking in, they look like clean programs.
  11. Kansas fans seem to think both Vick and Newman will be gone, and if that's true, that has to make Kansas even more appealing. I'm fearing them more than Vandy now. They pretty much check all the boxes except for proximity to home. KU will be really good next year.
  12. Why? Seems weird to single out one assistant.
  13. That is nuts. If a program can win 2 national championships the last 3 years with those recruiting classes, they probably have the best coach in America.
  14. Thank God. I'm so ready for this recruitment to be over.
  15. I doubt those schools would all want to make a hire in the same year. There's only so many qualified coaches to go around. That said, I'm guessing a former Duke player will take over for K, maybe Fife at MSU, and I have no idea at UNC.
  16. Damn, it's good news for us but I also don't want Purdue to get Ryan Taylor either. If they end up with him they could be pretty good next year with him and Boudreaux. Dang it I want them to take a step back.
  17. Let them. Never been very good at it. Not scared.
  18. Yeah and that's the frustrating part. We're so far from where we want to be, which is a perennially top 10-15 team competing for Final 4s. I'm confident Archie can get us there, but it's not going to happen overnight. Even with Romeo on the roster.
  19. He did grow up a UL fan though. And Louisville isn't any farther away today than it was when he dropped them from consideration. I just can't help but feel he'll at least be willing to hear Mack's pitch.
  20. Yeah most likely. I feel like we'll be watching them in the Final 4 in his second year against yet another mid-major who somehow manages to get farther than us.
  21. He'd be a good addition, but we probably don't want to be taking away a scholarship for a 2019 big.
  22. So apparently Immanuel Quickly, who is Romeo's good friend and going to Kansas, guessed Romeo will go to Vanderbilt. He admitted he's just guessing though.
  23. I can't believe how long it's been since we've been to a Final 4. Hell, even the Elite 8. The painful reality that sets in every year while watching the tournament.
  24. We'll have a battle for Ryan Taylor, so hopefully he is partial to staying in state. Since he's from Gary, I hope he doesn't go up to Purdue either.
  25. Hanner Perea absolutely did not dominate in high school. He had monster dunks, but I don't think he even averaged double-digit points his senior year. Hollowell and Patterson didn't either really. They were good scorers, but "dominate" is a bit of a strong word. I get your point though. Not much can be taken out of highlight videos. They're just for show.
