(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU
AKHoosier replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
True, but UK is also going after someone else at that spot who is probably a higher priority. I forget who it is. -
Holy sh1t, I just saw Louisville got Aidan Igiehon, making it their fifth 4* player in the 2019 class. They won't miss a beat at all. Pisses me off that we got taken to the woodshed for freakin' phone calls.

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky
AKHoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Keion was always going to take his visits, not sure we need to be alarmed here yet. -
Well put. I just can't envision a scenario where people are tuning into a G League game (are they even on anything other than NBA TV?) even if they had Zion Williamson type of players. The games mean nothing, are played in front of a few thousand fans in cities like Fort Wayne, Canton, Westchester, and Sioux Falls to name a few, and don't even get any run time on ESPN. Plus, a $125,000/yr contract paid out over 8 months to a year is a lot less sexy than a $125,000 cash bribe to a lot of these kids' handlers, especially because the former is taxed, while the latter is almost certainly not.

(2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA
AKHoosier replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Sounds like he was set on IU but has become somewhat intrigued with UCLA. Hopefully it's a passing thought, and he comes back down to earth after realizing how far away it is and how much he'd love IU. It probably doesn't matter who the coach is out there. So even if Alford gets fired, UCLA would be no less appealing. -
Yeah the fact Tremont Waters, a kid from the East Coast, would go to a random non-power school like LSU in a football conference should be proof enough that Wade is more than wading into dirty waters.
-
Well I think he's a good-hearted person and genuinely wants to do good and help too, but that has nothing to do with supporting one candidate over the other.
-
What? Where did I try to tell him how he should live? He's got the right to do what he wants, but I never said I had to like it, nor do we have to listen to it.
-
I don't dislike someone who has different political opinions than my own. That would be foolish, and it would cause me to be very lonely. I do, however, dislike sports stars or celebrities who use their status and fame to push their beliefs or candidates onto others, which is what Oladipo did. We all like VO for his accomplishments on the court at IU, not what he does in the ballot box. He appeared at a rally for Joe Donnelly and told everyone within the sound of his voice to "Vote Donnelly". Why should we listen to him? Because he's good at basketball? I hate that crap. And before you ask- YES, I would hate it just as much if he appeared at a rally for Mike Braun, or any other Republican and told us "Vote xxxx" A huge part of what's wrong with this country is celebrities trying to use their status to advance their beliefs onto everyone else, and worse, people who listen to them.

I remember when I used to like Victor Oladipo

So he's narrowing it down from 5 to 3? Can't wait!!!! -
Penny won't take Memphis anywhere Josh Pastner didn't.

$2,000/mo. for the Bowens? How poor are they.

There's not a more pathetic fan base in the entire country. So obsessed with their rivals. -

Hoosier Hysteria - Sept 29th, 2018. Time: 4:00 - 6:00 pm
AKHoosier replied to akinnaird24's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The scrimmage and event is probably the most boring part of their entire official visit. They would rather be hanging with all the current players at someone's apartment, or at Archie's house, at a party, etc, but instead all the players are out on the court. Watching a meaningless scrimmage for a few hours could get pretty boring for them. -

Visit is the 5th/6th then probably takes a few days to think about it. The week following his visit is when he announces his announcement date which will probably be the next week. I'm going with October 18 lol. -
(2019) CG Jahmius Ramsey
AKHoosier replied to AZ Hoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Is he actually going to Hoosier Hysteria? Hope so, and sees the treatment Romeo gets and falls in love with the environment. I want this kid bad, but he just doesn't seem like the type of kid that comes to IU. But the last time I said that was during Thomas Bryant's recruitment, so you never know. -
(2019) SG Brandon Newman to Purdue
AKHoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Figured this would happen, especially after Archie clearly favored Franklin. Newman will probably average 25 ppg against us now haha. -

God I hate Louisville. I wish they would just burn. -

Honestly I'm just not worried about UCLA here. I have a very high degree of confidence that Alford doesn't make it past this year as head coach. They lost a lot from last year's team, and the recruits he gets don't match the results on the court. That won't fly at UCLA for much longer. I know you can make the argument he would go there whether or not Alford is there, but I have a tough time believing TJD would commit to a coach who he has practically no relationship with. -

Have you ever watched either play? I've watched Damezi play, he's going to struggle guarding college 2s. He'll have time to acclimate though. -
Not sure I'd call him a success though.
-
That'd be so great. We could do alternates in a way that would make even the most traditionalist fan happy. We could copy off of this almost directly:
-
Just thinking about the actual violations that occurred under Sampson, the price we had to pay, and the road to be "back" under Crean and compare that to Louisville's violations and the near certainty that they won't struggle nearly as bad as we did makes me sick. Phone calls vs. hookers/paying players
