  1. I honestly wouldn't even care if Romeo went to Kansas. If he did, I'd root for him next year and I do want to root for him. Just, if he doesn't go to IU it better not be freaking Vanderbilt.
  2. Yeah I wish I was more impressed with them but I just didn't feel like I was watching the #2 team in the state tonight. Still a good team though and I hope they do well.
  3. Me too! Made it out to Mishawaka and watched them take on Penn. First time I've seen him play live. You can tell he's a good player, has some nice length, but I feel like he settled for too many jump shots. That breakaway dunk he had was pretty nice though. I'm really looking forward to see him develop, he'll definitely need to spend a lot of time in the gym and get some good coaching.
  4. Is there any chance Romeo loses tonight? I hope Archie gets a chance to take a visit down there now that he's a little less busy.
  5. We have such a long way to go, and it'll be nice to get some new blood in here next year. I feel like our culture has changed a little bit from the previous coaching staff, but we've still got a long way to go. I worry about what will happen with De'Ron Davis. His interview he gave a month ago made it seems like he doesn't even like basketball very much anymore. He probably can't work out much due to his injury, so he likely has put on some bad weight over the last few months. He'll have to go through that weight loss all over again just like last year. He really needs to be around 230 lbs to be more effective as a big in Archie's system since he's slow and not very athletic.
  6. I think Crean would be a good fit for Maryland. He could recruit the DMV all he wants.
  7. Starting to wonder what B1G teams will have coaching vacancies after this season. MSU? I think Izzo survives the year. Minnesota? Pitino could very well be on the hot seat but he probably gets another year. Maryland? Most likely vacancy in the B1G. Turgeon hasn't done anything lately, and will miss the tournament as one of the worst B1G teams.
  8. I heard there are buses around NYC advertising for the BTT, and they have pictures of Basil Smotherman on them, also Troy Williams. Basil transferred from Purdue I think 2 years ago, and obviously Williams isn't here. Fail.
  9. Me too, Sanford is impressive and I really hope he transfers to IU. I watched him play a few weeks ago and was really impressed. He hit a few threes, drove and dunked on a guy, and defended pretty well from what I saw. He's got a good build for a guard too, not really that wiry. If we miss on Romeo and end up getting Sanford, I really won't be all that upset. Obviously Romeo is the bigger get for a variety of reasons, but I'd take Sanford even if we didn't need a guard.
  10. Love seeing UNC lose, especially like that. What a shot. Refs tried to bail them out with calls towards the end. Heck of a game.
  11. Fringe top 25 team would be quite a stretch. They have a ton of turnover after this season, and are replacing experienced players with unproven, yet talented, freshman. They do have Matt Ryan, the transfer from ND, coming in next year though who could be ok. But it'll take a long time for them to figure it out and put it together. Something Drew has never done. Even Calipari takes a while every year to get his team playing well, and he's a better coach than Drew is.
  12. lol @ Vandy. They f***in' suck. Getting run out of their own gym in front of 4,000 people who had nothing better to do tonight.
  13. Wow. Alford is not going to last much longer imo. With the kind of talent he's getting, the on-court results do not match the recruiting.
  14. Commodore fever!
  15. Seems like good news, but this is what worries me. How has he not been sold on IU vs Vanderbilt yet? Has he really seen more out of Vandy than IU, especially over the last month and a half? How could someone like the opportunity at Vandy more than IU? If after this season he's still favoring Vanderbilt, I just don't know how we can all of a sudden change his mind. Unless he's considering Kansas a lot harder than most of us realize.
  16. So this could go past the McDonald's All America game? Ugh have mercy.
  17. Maybe this explains Archie's recent trip down to Vincennes.
  18. Yeah what they don't seem to realize is that it isn't that Calipari isn't paying recruits, it's that sometimes he just loses the bidding war. That's why the Ayton news implicates far more than Arizona. The fact that someone was offering $100K to a player means someone else offered $50K. I remember reading an interview with a former assistant at Cincinnati who said he offered $100K to Moses Malone when they were recruiting him, and according to the assistant, they were 3rd that day.
  19. I wonder if Vince Edwards will be back for Purdue Friday.
  20. Yeah they have a good recruiting class coming in next year though. They lose a lot but their arrow is still slightly pointed up.
  21. I'll just never understand why refs give Wisconsin so much love. Some Wisconsin fan or booster must have some compromising pictures of a ref's wife or something.
  22. I'm just so grateful we didn't hire Sean Miller last year, or in 2008 I guess. The last 2 times we've had vacancies, he was at or near the top of my wish list. Could you imagine if we hired him last year and all this stuff comes to light? It'd be like Sampson all over again.
  23. Right but that doesn't change the fact Sean Miller is sitting out. That's more telling than anything to me. And Ayton and his family just have absolutely nothing to lose, so why not deny? Play well, increase your draft stock, and hope nothing more comes of it until the tournament is over.
  24. I'm sure Sean Miller is sitting out tonight because he's 100% innocent.
