  1. "They" are planning to visit IU, as in Christian too? Starting to feel like Christian may be pursuing a job with IU, which I would be all for.
  2. Darn, really wanted to root for Hurt next year, but not sure where he would have gone for me to be able to root for him, given that he was pretty much always blueblood-bound from the start. Hopefully this eliminates another competitor for us in the Watford sweepstakes, maybe this ups our chances to about 25%.
  3. I can't stand how people are upset about no bluebloods in this year's college basketball championship, or even Final 4. People complaining about that probably don't even pay attention to college basketball until the tournament rolls around. I'm so pumped for tonight's game, as the purist in me loves how 2 new teams are in it, and we'll have a brand new champion.
  4. Exactly, that rule makes no sense at all.
  5. I'm pretty sure he was a Crean target as well.
  6. It wouldn't shock me, but I don't want that to happen. He's a guy who would be best served by sticking with it and figuring out a role for himself on this team. There's no shame in being a backup for 4 years as long as you can produce when your number is called. Plus I've got a soft spot for him since he's from South Bend, I'll always root for him.
  7. Exactly. If he could figure out how to drop 20 pounds in the offseason too, that could make him even more dangerous. He's a huge piece to our success next year, and I really hope we don't see him end up in the transfer portal.
  8. What you said is true, but I just wouldn't count on that out of some players who shall remain nameless. If you haven't shown enough consistency and focus after your sophomore year, especially when your team needed you to, then you probably won't in your next two years. You are who you are at this point. Maybe that's a coaching issue too, I don't know.
  9. At first I was upset about Jake Forrester leaving, but not so much anymore. He would have been a good 4-year guy, and when he signed I thought he'd be fun to see develop over time. The staff really seemed to like him in high school, as I recall they pursued him pretty aggressively, and honestly not many people on here or other boards really understood it. Seeing him this past year, he showed some good flashes and I liked seeing his enthusiasm on the bench. However, he just doesn't really have a position. His frame is pretty slight, definitely not big enough to be a big in this league. And he doesn't have the range or game yet to be a 4 in our system, so where did that leave him? Not sure even Jake knows the answer to that. I would have liked to see him stay, but I think he'll ultimately be a better fit somewhere else. I could see him ending up at Cincinnati, Pitt, Xavier, etc.
  10. Ah, this old argument. I suppose all of our 3 stars have turned out like Victor Oladipo and OG Anunoby too. If you want to find evidence of a low-ranked kid making a big impact, I'm sure you'll find plenty of examples to support your case. But I can find twice as many players who were ranked right around where Kihei Clark was that never made any sort of impact at the high major level. I know it's fun to sh1t all over rankings, but face it, they are right more often than not.
  11. Hopefully we can fight off Tulane, Georgia State, and Kent State here.
  12. Calipari is getting hammered on the UK boards right now. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he bolted that pressure cooker of a job this year for UCLA. @KeionBrooks your thoughts here?
  13. Anyone who thinks our fans cost us Keion Brooks, here is exhibit A on how all fanbases have their idiots
  14. Right, but most of those guys' postseason wins were in the NCAAT, not the NIT. That was more my point.
  15. Eh I don't know man, 2 of those wins were in the NIT.
  16. Just think of it like this and you'll be happy: Swapping Moore for Brunk. If we get 5 ppg and 5 rpg and solid interior defense for 2 years, then we'll get more out of him than Moore. But he's not the missing piece we're looking for, not by a long shot.
  17. It's too bad Okeke got injured, as Auburn has been probably the most impressive team in the whole tournament this far. Texas Tech a very close 2nd place though.
  18. lol that was the most Purdue way to lose a game ever.
  19. Ok well that exact thing was posted on Rivals yesterday. So did your source read it on that site? I'm sure we're targeting those transfers, but if history is any indication, we get maybe 1 of those guys.
  20. Well it wouldn't be March for IU fans if we weren't discussing which players are going to transfer.
  21. Purdue will beat either Virginia or Oregon, doesn't matter who they play. Bennett's defense gets exposed more when a team can light it up from 3 like Purdue can. Plus, I trust Bennett in the tournament as much as I trust my girlfriend not to get emotional this time of the month. We'll probably have to pick one to root for: Kentucky or Purdue
  22. Guarantee he goes to Louisville. It's just the way this crap works out sometimes.
  23. I really dislike being pessimistic, but I can't help but feel like a downer when I think of next year. I honestly don't see much improvement unless we land some more recruits or impact grad transfers. My gun-to-the-head prediction for next year's starting lineup is: Phinisee Green Smith/Durham TJD Davis That starting lineup will be good enough for maybe 5th in the B1G.
  24. He's married and slept with a student. Stuff like that doesn't fly at Bethel.
  25. I hate how much the media just rides coach K's jock, saying how classy he is sharing an emotional moment after that game with Dawkins. If he lost that game, he would have stormed off the court in a heartbeat, pissed off at the lack of return on investment he got on his players. Completely sold out once he started going after the one-and-done guys.
