Yeah I'm tempering my expectations too. I think we'll go 1-1 over the next 2, we'll beat PSU but NW will beat us. I don't like our chances against a veteran-laden team, and we seem to play worse at home for some reason. We may have a problem under pressure in front of our home crowd.

Does Morgan graduate this year? That may play heavily into the equation here. If he gets his degree he may take his talents overseas, with a puncher's chance of getting drafted.

Notre Dame wins the same way Florida won today, and I don't think I've ever seen a game end like that before. A turnover on what seems like the final possession of the game turns into a last second transition basket. Crazy.

Wow no way. Kid probably won't be able to play for Vandy until second semester next season now at the earliest. That sucks. Edit: just to add, the injury took place on December 28, not last night. He underwent the MRI today and it doesn't say he tore an ACL, just apparently hyper-extended his knee on a layup. Never know with those non-contact knee injuries though I suppose, they're almost always ACLs.

Yeah I feel that way when we lose in the tournament too. That year we lost to Syracuse in the Sweet 16 I don't think I watched another tournament game at all after that night.

Since you can't really quantify athleticism and it's tough to describe, you just have to go on the eye test. And he doesn't pass it. He can't rebound well. If his vertical was decent, then he'd dunk more, and I feel like I can count the number of times he's dunked on one hand. He isn't fast, he has no recovery speed on defense. He's at his best when someone feeds him the ball and he backs in the defender in the post. When that gets taken away, there's not much he can do.

This team is going to look so ridiculously different next year. I'm guessing 2 more transfers (source on another board says 2-3), so we'll likely have an entirely different roster next year. It'll be interesting to see how many more 2018 recruits Archie goes after, as he'll probably rather go the grad transfer route for the sake of not having a huge freshman class.

I've always been high on De'Ron but it's becoming clearer and clearer that he's not who I thought he'd be. It looked like he'd come in and be a shot blocking machine while averaging well over 10 ppg. He's just so unathletic.

Going to be a lot of empty seats throughout the rest of the season's home games. Probably another home loss to purdoo too.

Very true. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'll only get excited about players like Forrester if we were also landing 5 stars. The top-20 players more often than not will make everyone around them better. There's a reason why the senior version of Will Sheehey wasn't nearly the one we were used to when Cody was around. I know Vonleh was here too but there were a ton of things wrong with that particular team.

Sorry I hate to be negative because I do trust Archie and his vision, but those are the types of guys we've gotten for years here yet we haven't been past the Sweet 16 in 16 years. I'm just getting tired of that being the best thing people can say about a recruit we get, how "we need guys like this to compete for championships". Yeah but we also need 5 stars, and we keep whiffing on them.
