Maybe Jerry Meyer switched it to Indiana just so he can switch it back to Kansas to really get under our skin. -

Well something has to be up now for Jerry Meyer to switch his Crystal Ball pick from Kansas to Indiana a mere 2 days before Romeo's scheduled official visit to Kansas. Hopefully he has some concrete information. -

I think it's a matter of time before more crystal ball predictions start rolling in for IU here. When that happens, I'll be fully torqued for however long before he commits. -

Doesn't he visit UCLA this weekend? Are you saying he could possibly decide before the visit and just not go public with it? -

Hopefully these aren't just positive vibes and temporary highs that come from an official visit, which will just die down as the dust settles. Regardless, have to feel good about the position we're in with Langford and Garland after this weekend. Archie has done a great job in a very short period of time. -

New Albany would sell out every game they play, home and away. If they don't already. -

I'll bet Vanderbilt is anxiously waiting out this weekend. They did not want this visit to happen. -

Got dammit. Is anyone else hearing Garland may not even make it to the IU visit? Sounds like he may pop to Vandy any day now per another board. -
Yep this is what happened. He was actually top-10 at one point according to Rivals with offers from most of the big boys, but his play kind of fell off and he dropped in the rankings. We were really the only bigger school to not back off. I even remember reading the articles written after his commitment saying he chose us over offers from UNC and UK when in fact, that wasn't really true. More like a half truth.
-
Yeah I get that and know he was top 10, I guess I'm using some pretty strong revisionist history with the benefit of hindsight. He wasn't very good, or he was pretty good but it didn't matter because his team was really bad.

Guys get real. I know it's our nature to worry as IU basketball fans, but step back and assess the situation. Vanderbilt is not getting three 5* players in one class. They've only gotten 1 in the past 10 years. They're going to struggle to remain front-runners for Garland as it is, and they're not getting Romeo. It's just sheer probability. -
I swear, if I learn Kenny Johnson cheated to get freaking Stan Robinson, Troy Williams, and Noah Vonleh I would laugh my a$$ off. None of those guys would have been worth cheating for.

And all guilty parties should breathe a sigh of relief if Congress gets involved. That'll ensure nothing gets done. The only governing body that could be less threatening is if the UN starts to sniff around. "You're making us very angry, therefore we're going to take 6 weeks to draft a letter telling you how angry we are."
-
I'm shocked by this. All those kids just want to play for Nick Saban because he's such a good coach, not because they get anything extra on the side.
-
Yeah I saw it, but I'm just not sure how credible chatsports.com could be. I've never heard of them before I clicked on that link.

I'm just waiting for news about Kansas. I honestly think they've been up to more shady things than Kentucky. If you remember, Bill Self struggled to get the one-and-done type talent until all of a sudden he didn't. I think it was either Xavier Henry or Josh Selby that "broke the seal".
-
I'm pulling this from another board because it's a tad relevant to us: According to an AAU coach, South Carolina, Kansas, and UCLA may be next. There's also approximately 15 Adidas sponsored AAU programs on a list to be investigated. Indiana Elite, Team Loaded, Mass Rivals, and Atlanta Celtics to name a few. The ASM raid may implicate some parents of Indiana players aka Teague and Lyles.

It may take a week or so, but I'm just waiting for this latest shoe to drop on Kansas, pun intended. There's no way they haven't been a beneficiary of some shady stuff. -
My favorite tweet I saw earlier, not mine: BREAKING: Rick Pitino denies ever having coached Louisville.
-
Did Vitale actually call AZ sleaze? That's so uncharacteristic of him to talk like that about a school or coach. Usually he defends coaches at all cost, to an obnoxious level. He even defended freakin' Larry Brown.
-
Man I'm glad to not be a Louisville fan right now. Their boards are so sullen and gloomy, most fans just hope the school is allowed to keep their ACC membership
-
I, for one, can't wait for our game against University-6 this December.

I think someone is sensing an opportunity to get some more attention. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice.....

(2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy
AKHoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I read it, really not much to it. His dad gave the interview, gave a glowing review of the visit and staff and Vandy. But when asked about the other schools, also made a point to say Darius is from Indiana, the IU in-home visit was a really impressive one, and that actually the in-home visits are the biggest factor in recruiting. He also named the entire IU staff by name, something he didn't do for the other schools. Said Darius likes Indiana "a lot". Also Duke is out. To add, he said Darius' biggest deal will be his ability to be the lead guard. His "dream is to be the lead guard". There's no way that doesn't bode the best for IU.
