  1. and if she isn't I've got a lot of egg to wipe off my face. She's on campus and Lenee and Fenn both posting pics on Instagram. 5'6" guard originally from Seattle, WA. Not an offensive threat but sounds like she's a really tough defender. https://usctrojans.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/malia-samuels/17640 https://lasentinel.net/shes-got-game-and-a-mission-malia-samuels-is-changing-the-score.html https://www.theixsports.com/features/malia-samuels-defensive-chaos-usc/
  2. Boston University transfer Michael McNair has committed to Maryland. McNair averaged 16.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
  3. As is typical for girls this young, there's just not much out there about her basketball background. She currently attends Brownsburg East Middle School in Brownsburg. Plays AAU for IGB 16U on the girls UAA circuit and her team went 5-0 this past weekend. One report indicates she's 6'2" tall and already has quite a list of offers. Instagram: quinn.sowder
  4. Portland transfer Jermaine Webb is entering the transfer portal, per his agent Gerard Colomé The 7-1, 250 pound big man averaged 8.9 points and 4.3 rebounds
  5. Try something new this year. I think (hope) I can find at least some limited stats for our targets who are playing on the 3 major shoe circuits. Like with the boys there are a few girls who are playing on the lesser circuits and stats for them will be hit and miss. Every girl listed below is playing in the 17U EYBL circuit except '28 Khloe Nicholson who is playing 16U. '29 Kristin Winston is playing 17U and check out her stats for the first weekend. Not bad at all for as young as she is. Sydney Savoury also had a very good first weekend. I watched a number of her high school games this past season and to my untrained eye she's someone we'd love to have in Bloomington. The next big event on the girls EYBL circuit is May 15-17 in New Orleans. Taylor Brown '27 - Exodus NYC Did not play this weekend. 13. Stats for Chase's AAU weekend. Don't overreact to how minimal his game stats were for his 4-point game as it was a garbage opponent. It was 63-39 after 3Qs and mercy ruled when it reached 71-46. Raby was there and said Chase's offense wasn't needed and he primarily served as a distributor. Key comment from Raby was that Chase seemed fully engaged throughout the game despite the inferior quality of the opponent and the scoring margin. The final game of the weekend was also a mercy rule ending. Raby was there for the entire weekend and made an interesting observation that in the 4/19 game Chase had 5 "hockey assists" in addition to the 1 he was officially credited with. Also, Raby reported that DDV was in Kansas City to watch at least one of his games. The next UAA event is May 15-17 in Cincinnati, OH. 15. We take the weekend series winning 5-4 today. AC had 11 hits, 4 for extra bases off 4 IU pitchers who also walked 6 batters. We had 8 hits plus 7 BB from AC pitching. We benefited from 2 AC errors with 2 of our runs unearned. Tuesday at 3:00 we'll be in Muncie to face Ball State (19-19); televised on ESPN+. Radio Live Stats Next weekend we host Iowa (21-15) (7-10) and 7-7 in road games.
  16. We couldn't get the weekend sweep as the Hawkeyes won today's game 4-2. We were held to just 4 hits; Mannon had 2 of them. But there is some good news. Avery Parker with a solo HR in the 4th became IU's career home run leader with Wednesday at 5:00 we host Valpo (17-26); televised on B1G+ or you can listen Radio. Next weekend the women are in Ann Arbor to play Michigan (28-16) (7-10) and just 5-5 at home. Regular season winding down and concludes May 1-3 in Bloomington hosting Illinois.
  17. In they come -- Buffalo transfer Tim Oboh has committed to Penn State. The 6’11” sophomore center started all 32 games played, averaging 8.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game. Out they go -- Penn State transfer Mason Blackwood has committed to St. Bonaventure. The 6’7” freshman forward appeared in 26 games, averaging 2.6 points, and 1.8 rebounds per game.
