  1. #4 seed https://bigten.org/sb/article/59197/
  2. Villanova transfer guard Malachi Palmer has committed to Minnesota. The 6-6 sophomore scored 15 points against Seton Hall this season and reached double figures in six games on the year.
  3. And Northwestern wins the weekend series winning 9-6 today. Both teams scored a run in the first inning but NW scored 5 in its second and we had to play catch up from there and despite scoring 3 in our 8th we couldn't complete a comeback. NW had 12 hits (4-HR) off 4 IU pitchers plus we issued 8 BB. We could manage just 6 hits.; Hanley had 3 RBI. To add insult to injury -- our first series loss at Northwestern since 2006. Next weekend we play at PUke and the following weekend is the regular season finale (mercifully) hosting Illinois.
  4. Jasai Miles to Loyola Marymount.
  5. Women end the regular season with a weekend sweep of Illinois winning today's game 7-3. Hooks started on Senior Day and went 5.1 innings giving up 5 hits, 2 BB and 1 run. Mannon and Troutt wrapped it up limiting the Illini to a total of 7 hits on the day. We had 9 hits with Josie Bird the only Hoosier to get more than one. But one of hers was a big one, a 3-run HR in the bottom of the 1st inning. And that followed an Ally VanBrandt solo HR. When the inning ended, we had a 5-0 lead and never looked back. Big Ten softball tournament scheduled for May 6-9 at College Park, MD. https://bigten.org/sb/article/59197/
  6. Sanon to West Virginia.
  7. Last weekend, several EYBL team did not make the trip to Atlanta as there was some kind of an event in the DMV area. Those teams got together this weekend. In today's second game, Lyons and Veney faced each other. 8. Wildcats take today's game 7-4 despite the fact we outhit them 11-5. Unfortunately, 1 of their 5 was a 3-RBI double and another a 2-4 run HR. Thomas and Yarberry split mound duties this afternoon for IU. Denny went 4-4 but not a one of his 4 hits scored a run. Malamazian was our RBI leader with 2. Rubber game tomorrow at 2:00 ET.
  9. Women take game #2 7-3. They trailed 3-1 going into the bottom of the 4th but scored 4 runs and added 1 in the 5th and another in the 6th. Hess, Mannon and Hooks held Illinois to 4 hits and walked 3. We had 12 hits Mannon going 3-3 and 3 other women 2-4. Alex Cooper had 3 RBI. We go for the weekend sweep tomorrow at 1:00.
  10. Talia Goodman with an update on Maddie's recruitment. We got specific mention along with 8 other schools but I'd say we're likely a dark horse in this recruitment.
  11. '28 Landon Lampley scored 18 in the win over Darius Garland. He typically would be playing 17U but the Meanstreets 17U team is not in Fort Wayne. Andershock said it wasn't fair to the other team that he was playing 16U. Reported at 6'7" with a 6'10" wingspan. Told Raby that IU has been heavily involved with him.
  12. From the Hensley Run 'N Slam - Jahari Miller (Pike HS) hit six 3's for 22 points in Indy Heat's 17U win over Ohio Champion. Isaiah Hill (Pike HS) had 10. Noah Washington (New Albany HS) led Indy Heat 16U to a 63-59 win over Ohio Champion. He mostly slashed to bucket, which allowed him to get a bunch of free throws. He finished with 18. '28 Cole Kelly (Nequa HS, Nequa, IL) 22p, 6r, 5a in a win over Indiana Jammers.
  13. Kenna attends Lumen Christi HS in Jackson, MI. She plays AAU for Legends U on the Power 24 circuit. She was named Division 3 POY by the Michigan Sports Writers. Her high school is the reigning champion in its division. https://bluewaterhealthyliving.com/news/local-news/michigan/kenna-hunt-takes-over-for-lumen-christis-1st-mhsaa-girls-basketball-title/ Hudl
  14. In a game played at Wrigley Field, our Hoosiers took the weekend opener 9-2. Neubeck started and pitched 6 innings of 4-hit shutout ball. Vogel and Rivera closed it out limiting the Wildcats to 3 hits and 2 runs. We had 11 hits in thegame. Denny went 3-5 and Hanley 3-4. ten Oever who's been on a real tear was 2-3 and led the way with 3 RBI. Decker 2-4 with 2 RBI.
  15. Women take the weekend opener 8-5 but it wasn't a piece of cake. Hooks started but never made it to the 2nd as Illinois scored 3 in its first at bat. We got 2 back in our 1st and then added 5 in our second with 4 coming on a Parker grand slam. Illinois picked up 2 more in its 5th and we added a run in the 7th. Troutt relieved Hooks and pitched the middle 5 innings before Hess closed out the 7th. We had a total of 7 hits and Parker had 4 RBI and Bird 3.

  19. Jamie Shaw of On3 did an update on Wabbington and we were one of the six schools mentioned. Talks primarily with KJ but really likes DDV. "...would really allow me to play make and shoot to score and allow me to play where I want to play.”
