I don't know the ins and outs of recruiting and NCAA regs but I would think it would be immensely helpful to have a former IU / CTC player available to talk to potential recruits when they are on our campus.  Recruiting regs seem to be so picky and maybe some of you can elaborate on what role, if any, Derek may be able to play in interacting with potential recruits.  Can he talk with them at all, and if so, under what conditions?

With Sudfield sidelined, not sure I'm comfortable with all of our QB rushing attempts.

How many previous year's teams would have folded the tent long ago?   Lost our QB and star RB and we're still only down 7.  No matter what happens the rest of the game, this team has shown real heart.

Are there indications that a couple of the commits might be wavering a bit and thus the door is slightly ajar for us to make another run at them?

2018 is an eternity away and I'd be leery of keeping his commitment that long.  And as a coach (which I'm not and never have been) do I want a commitment this early and have to take a scholly off my availability list?  Just thinkin' out loud.

I think CTC and my 9-year old granddaughter have a lot in common.  If she has a dollar in her pocket, it must be spent immediately and available schollys seem to have the same effect on our coach.  I don't know that Gelon is necessarily a bad recruit but the fact he was the first commit and off the radar that really caught us off guard.  Getting a commit from CuJo helps, but we still have a lot of holes to fill on next season's roster.

Don't think we'll take another jump upward this weekend.  I just don't think we've got the horses to stop the likes of O$U, but I would like nothing better than to eat these words Saturday evening.

Collectively, we should all feel ashamed, humiliated and humbled.  I just got home and checked the score and saw PUke got beat by BGU.  Couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a peek at the Hammer and Rails game day thread.  Ladies and gentlemen they had 740 posts and we only had a couple of dozen over 300.  However, if you remove their posts that contain outright profanity against their team, school and head coach, their posts probably number less than 100.  I want to extend a big THANK YOU to the mods on Btownbanners who will not tolerate that kind of stuff and allow it to get posted to our threads.   Undefeated!  Boy does that have a nice ring to it.

I never thought JBJ was more than a 2-year player and I think he leaves either for the NBA or for an overseas team unless he should sustain a significant injury or just lay an absolute egg on the court.

Uh, I think he demonstrated last year he had a pretty high tolerance for pain.
