  1.   I don't know when tickets go on sale but it won't be a sellout and if you end up with some bad seats just move into the ND section because they won't have much of a crowd at all.  Their fans do not support them at this event.
  2. You're right.  Mom couldn't have got 8 rebounds because she's lost her verticality due to arthritis.  :shout:   Yes it was an exaggeration but our poor defense made a lot of players look like first round draft picks. Newkirk got a lot of points and boards against us, but his season averages were nowhere near that good.  I'm not saying he's a bad pick-up but I'm not overly impressed and especially concerned about his surgery and if he'll be able to fully recover as did Colin Hartman or will he be limited in playing time because the knee just won't hold up to the rigors of B1G.  He didn't just have your basic everyday 'scope, he had microfracture surgery and that's a whole different thing.   I absolutely hope he proves me wrong.
  3.   My 92-year old mother could have done the same as poor as our defense was last season.
  4.   Maybe a little comforting but you have to wonder about the knee surgery - it wasn't just your normal scope - and what, if any, impact that can have.  From what I've seen thus far the time frame is a 6-mo. rehab which puts us at close to the end of this upcoming season.  He has to sit out anyway as a transfer, but the rehab period means he won't be able to participate in any meaningful team practice sessions this season.  On the other hand, I like his addition to the roster more than some of the other questionable additions we've had.  I hope his recovery is similar to Hartman's and he will be able to give us quality minutes in 2016.
  5. Unless he absolutely has a horrible season, I think JBJ throws his name into the 2016 draft even if he's a borderline NBA pick and then heads overseas if he's not drafted.  I just have the feeling he never expected to be at IU for more than 2 years and he was optimistic that it might be only for 1 season.
  6. I just don't think Alkins is a realistic commit.  Once again, I hope I'm wrong.
  7.   This from ESPN:  Newkirk averaged 5.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game last season for the Panthers. He underwent microfracture surgery on his knee on May 6.  The Panthers had hoped the speedy Newkirk would develop into one of the ACC's better point guards but it never happened. He struggled finding his shot, making just 38 percent of his field goal attempts as a sophomore in 2014-15 as Pitt failed to make the NCAA tournament.   Not very spectacular stats and now dealing with surgery rehab issues.   Not knocking either Grant or Newkirk but not exactly the first 2 commitments I would like to necessarily have coming in next season.  I know we have a lot of openings but I also can't help but think that some of the big names have give CTC indications they ain't coming to Bloomington.  Hope I'm wrong; very wrong.
  8. Won't happen.  Too many players wouldn't pass and hurt the school's APR.
  9.   Watch your tongue boy!  :rtfm:   Next month when I get my direct deposit from Social Security I'll enjoy it even more knowing that a portion of it came from your paycheck!!  You are gainfully employed I hope!!  :cheese:
  10.   I can pretty much agree with everything you said except for your one sentence "...I see it as a sign he may be changing the way he recruits..."  I see it as just more of his haphazard recruiting style and I in no way mean that as a knock against 2G.  CTC reminds me of a little kid at Christmas who every time they see a toy ad on TV, says "Mommy, I want that, I want that!"
  11. Anything can happen but I'll certainly be surprised if it's us.  I've just had the feeling for quite some time that both sides were just going through the motions of recruitor and recruitee for the sake of appearance.  But hey, I'm old and cranky what do I know!
  12. That truly is the $64 question.  It does seem like the proverbial throw mud at the wall and see what sticks.  Random, haphazard -- it's hard to discern any pattern or see any consistency in our recruiting effort.
  13. Sure they do but down there it's called Cal'sAnus.
  14. Well, you can certainly bet that it won't be: Calculus English Lit Chinese 101
  15.   If we haven't been all that warm and fuzzy in Gordon's recruitment of late (supposition on my part) then I highly doubt a late push would be successful.  I've always had the feeling that we were never that high on Gordon's list, that mentioning our name periodically was more a thing of just being polite.
  16. Gee, does anyone possibly think that there was an institution wide lack of control?
  17. Lot of head scratching and concern because our first commit isn't one of the elite we've been recruiting.   First of all, there's a lot of roster openings for 2016 and there will be again in 2017.  Secondly, this young man isn't blind to who else we're recruiting and has to know that playing time could be sparse and is therefore more than likely a 4-year player something many of the 4 and most of the 5 star players won't be and I'd much rather have someone like 2G taking a roster spot than some of the other less notables CTC has recruited tying up schollys.  Thirdly, I don't think a 4 or 5 star recruit will be scared off because we've gotten a commitment from 2G.  The bigger concern to me is the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, commitments for 2016.  We do need some triples and home runs and not a bunch of singles.  Sorry for throwing in a baseball analogy but speaking of baseball everybody keeping tabs on Schwarber I hope.
  18. Hey, it's a start!  Welcome Mr. Gelon.  We know you'll look good in candystripes.
  19.   Love picking up players from the backyard of that school that wears dirty yellow and black uniforms.
  20. Top 3 is nice, but when's someone going to say we're #1 and give us a solid commitment?
  21. I think both Morgan and OG are in a great position.  They both should see lots of minutes without the pressure or expectations that many have already placed on TB.  A year of understudy in 2015-2016 should pay good dividends in 2016-2017.
