  1. On 12/30 New Albany defeated #5 ranked in 4A Evansville Reitz 72 - 63.  Langford had 28 pts. on 7 of 14 from the field and 14 of 17 from the line.  He also had 10 rebounds and 3 steals.
  2. McCutcheon HS participated in the City Securities Hall of Fame Classic at New Castle losing its first game 57 - 55 to Class 4A Lawrence Central and then winning the consolation game against Martinsville by a score of 78 - 59.   In the first game, Phinisee had 18 pts. and 7 rebounds.  In the Martinsville game Phinisee hit on 7 of 14 shots for 20 and again got 7 rebounds.
  3. On the road and only got to watch the last 3 minutes and just now reading this thread.  All I can say is I'm glad I didn't waste 2 hours of my life watching it.  I don't see how we can be a major factor in the B1G this season even though as a whole the league is down.  We play crappy basketball and that's all there is to it.  TB had his first game with serious foul trouble and that's going to happen more now that the real season has started.  The TO's - what is left to say?  Not allowing points in the paint - what is left to say?  There's no improvement in the overall level of team play from last season and if not by now, there ain't gonna be.   I hate to see us lose ball games, but if losing the majority of our B1G games would guarantee a coaching change, well..............
  4. I was at the game and he is just clunking iron something fierce.  Martin hit some outside shots, but without Dunham hitting from the outside, Butler couldn't pound it inside with enough consistency.   And then Bullock from Providence who hasn't shot all that well on his 3's decides today he'll hit 7 of 9.  And then he goes double digit on rebounds as well.
  5. Unable to follow the game whatsoever.  Anything in particular that cost us, i.e.., lousy shooting, poor rebounding, defense, etc.?
  6. Definitely not news we expected or wanted, but now that we're a football school, "we don't rebuild, we reload".
  7. Twitter world exploding with the news.    :(
  8. Love the optimism!  Ain't it great to be a football school?
  9. It had nothing to do with the outcome of the game, but I saw this morning that Izzo's father passed away on Monday.
  10. Let's just hope this cupcake doesn't turn the tables and decide to 'cream' us because our shooting is 'iced' cold.  Don't forget, it is a road game!
  11. On 12/29 at Evansville, New Albany defeats Evansville Bosse 58 - 51.  Langford with 19 pts.     . Next game 12/30 at New Albany vs. Evansville Reitz.
  12. PUke defeats Wisky 61 - 55.  Took control of the boards in the second half and outrebounded Wisky by 10.   PUke was sloppy with 16 TO's and Wisky had 7 steals.
  13. Psst.  See #461.
  14. From 247 Sports: Just a day after Indiana lost Jordan Howard to the NFL, the Hoosiers earned a commitment from another physical, punishing runner. Euless (Texas) Trinity running back Tyler Natee committed to Indiana on Tuesday night, giving the Hoosiers a big-bodied and physical running back. “I love coach (Kevin) Wilson and what he does for Indiana,” Natee told Inside Indiana after his commitment Tuesday. The 5-foot-11, 258-pound Natee took his official visit to Indiana on Dec. 11, and immediately named the Hoosiers as his leader. It didn't take long for Natee — who was also considering Arkansas State, Baylor and others — to commit to Indiana. Natee sees himself "as a big bruiser helping get short yardage and help expand the offense in any way," he said after committing Tuesday. Natee’s commitment comes after Howard, Indiana’s First Team All-Big Ten running back, announced his intention to declare for the NFL Draft on Monday. It also comes after Auburn (Alabama) running back Tyus Flakes decommitted from Indiana. The Hoosiers now have two running backs committed to the 2016 class, as Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward’s running back Cole Gest is also in the fold. Natee is the The academics of Indiana attract him as much as the football program, he said. "It's a great team with massive potential but before that," Natee said after his official visit, "it offers a great business school. I love Kelly School of Business."
  15. For as good as he is, Ben Simmons can't be a one man band for LSU and they're off to a slow start as a team with a third of the season already gone.
  16. PUke at Wisky on the Big Ten channel.  At the half, tied at 24.  Wisky holding their own against the PUke front line with 6 OReb and 12 DReb vs. 3 and 15 respectively for PUke who's also committed 9 TO's.
  17.   And note who slid into 2nd place.  Not bad for a 'newbie'.
  18. I haven't watched Gelon so this is pure speculation on my part, but maybe he is a deadeye shooter provided he's set when he catches the ball and not closely guarded.  Not necessarily double or triple teamed but his defender is playing soft defense.  Maybe not a kid who can necessarily create his own shots but more a catch and shoot player.      And for whatever it's worth, Crown Point is participating in the Noblesville Holiday Tournament and defeated Avon 90 - 64.  Gelon with 21 points on 7 of 9 from 3 pt. land.  Not sure how far they were into the 4th quarter, but at that point, he had yet to attempt either a 2 pt. shot or a free throw.   Sasha Stefanovic had 12 pts. for Crown Point.
  19.     You're right.  We should be focusing on the lower grades!    UA Indy Hoosiers ‏@Indyhoosiersbba 17h17 hours ago Avon, IN Sunday 5-7:00 pm Indy Hoosier Tryouts grades 2-8th. Southport HS. All border states welcome. Building Natl powers in Each Grade. Be there!
  20. You almost have to feel pity for John Groce.  Not only does he have multiple Illini players out with injuries, today it was learned from a Chicago Tribune reporter that Groce won't identify the player by name but he has a player out with mumps and won't be available for the Illinois - Michigan game.
  21.   What class is he in?  I couldn't find anything.
  22. I'm thinking it's a leather muzzle as I've heard he's a kinky kinda guy!
  23. No problem; I just didn't see where I made that reference.  No biggie.
