Is it me or does Archie have a little bit of a street accent?

The next few weeks will be interesting to say the least. There are so many question marks. In my opinion, Bryant really should come back because he needs to seriously work on his IQ, footwork, and hands. OG should probably come back too but it seems like he's got a foot out the door. Hopefully Blackmon stays and Archie and staff are able to help him on the defensive side. Could make the difference between him being drafted and playing in Norway somewhere. On the recruiting side, I really like what I'm hearing about Miller. From all accounts, he's a tireless recruiter who knows the midwest.. I am hoping he can keep Moore. I really like what I've seen out of that kid. Same with Justin Smith. Waters would be a HUGE pickup if IU could somehow land him, and if Kostas follows Miller (which seems like a stretch), I'd go from unwhelmed about the 2017 class to very pleased. Excited to see how all of this plays out.

Where are these "low ball" rumors coming from?

Funny how things change in a day. By this time yesterday, there were posters on this board and others coming out of the woodwork with rumors about Billy Donovan being IU's new coach. Give me Bennett.. His teams play hard nosed basketball and you can tell they are very well coached with a game plan coming into every game. Unlike our most recent regime.

Dream should be the operative word here.. It was never realistic.

Agree that OKC isn't exactly LA, but until this season, OKC hasn't really needed to be a major free agent destination because they drafted so well. They were right on the verge for a couple seasons and had their opportunities. I just don't see Donovan giving up and bolting after one halfway decent season.. I really hope I'm wrong, but I don't think there is any president for that type of move.

It's a message board, Jeff.. That's kind of the point. State your opinion and have an open dialogue on the issues.. In this case I don't get why people are getting their hopes up with Donovan. Trying to understand it using some logic.

Yeah and last season they were in the Western Conference Finals. Things change in the NBA from season to season. One decent year and he's going to book it back to college? Meh.

How can you just assume that OKC won't be relevant? There's free agency, the trade deadline, the draft, etc..

Someone mentioned it earlier.. Any time there is an Alford rumor, it gets shot down and laughed at really quickly. However, the Donovan rumors are gospel until every angle has been analyzed and people realize those are just BS too.

Westbrook homer? Ummm no.. But I can see with my own two eyes what the guy has accomplished this season which is something that hasn't been done in what, 50 years?

Hates coaching the guy who is on pace to average a triple-double, a feat that hasn't been done since Oscar Robertson?? Yeah I'm sure it's a miserable job.

Westbrook can't just leave tomorrow.. He's there for at least another season.

All of the smoke is coming from posters who have heard from their brother-in-law's ex cousin that the law firm that represents Donovan's aunt and uncle heard that possibly Donovan was maybe in Bloomington... Donovan is obviously a guy who has striven to be an NBA coach. Now that he's there, coaching Westbrook and in the playoff hunt, it really wouldn't make sense for him to just quit in the middle of his contract. People keep saying Westbrook is gone.. But isn't he locked up until 2018-19? He just signed an extension, right?

You say you can't see how people thought Crean wouldn't get fired, but I'll go ahead and say the same about people who think Donovan is going to be IU's next coach.. Don't see it happening. There really has been nothing I've seen or read that makes me think he's leaving is sweet coaching gig to return to IU. He's coaching one of the best players on the planet and will be in the playoffs.. He's also not making chump change at $6MM/year.. You think he's going to give that up and come to IU? Not sure what makes everyone so confident. Because of what people are saying on the message boards? We've seen how most of those rumors work out..
