IU vs Nebraska Game Thread

I feel like last year, and the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 years should have been Final Four years too.. -

Pretty sure he declared for the draft without hiring an agent and was evaluated by teams, then decided to return to IU. -

Totally agree. The rotation goes 10 deep. And all 10 average double digit minutes per game. That doesn't make sense when you have 3 potential NBA caliber players on the team. Doesn't Crean pride himself on conditioning? There should be a core of 5 starters who see most of the minutes and maybe 3 others that get double digit minutes. Any person with half a brain can see what happens when you mix and match 15 different lineups. -

I think Blackmon's shooting ability and solid athleticism makes him a guy that won't get drafted, but follow the Troy Williams path.. He worked out for the NBA last year. -

It's not even January yet.. I still believe all 3 are gone. One game doesn't make or break your NBA chances. Lots of basketball still to play. -

This was a horrendous loss. No doubt about it. Could be the difference between a 1 and a 2 seed in the B1G tournament.. But if they are able to beat Louisville, Indiana will have the 3 best wins of any team in college basketball.. That will mean something come tournament time. -
Here we go.... Crean isn't going anywhere for the next few years. Last night was UGLY. But a W vs Louisville changes things and gives this team another marquee win.

People keep saying this IU team is completely different but some of the same stories keep popping up game after game.. Defenders getting beat off the dribble is probably the one that gets me the most heated. It's already happened a few times in the first couple minutes.. Turnovers is the other one. I think Bryant would absolutely be the biggest loss of the three. Looking at the 2017-18 roster as it stands now, this team will have little to no inside depth and a 6'10 wide body who averages 12 and 8 and a couple blocks and can run the floor like Bryant can would be a HUGE loss. OG's draft stock is really based on athletic ability, size, and his ability to finish around the bucket. I don't think any of that has changed. So I'd say your comments saying no one has these guys in the top 10 or top 20 is wrong, #1, but #2, I don't think it matters in the grand scheme. My opinion is that both are leaving along with Blackmon and whether they get drafted in the top 10, 20, 30, 40, it doesn't change the fact that Indiana will most likely have 3 very big holes to fill in 2017-18. -

So to sum this thread up in a few words: Freddie McSwain is not an underage drinker, but was potentially spotted drinking and something "not good" may or may not have happened as reported by a janitor.... Seriously? LOL. -

Og isn't top 10 anywhere? Bryant isn't top 20 anywhere? You don't know what you're talking about. Draft Express has been the most accurate mock draft year in year out for about the last 5 years: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/OG-Anunoby-93246/ http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Thomas-Bryant-7231/ All 3 are gone IMO. And Blackmon may do exactly what Troy Williams did this year. He tested the waters .. I don't think the 'love' Bryant has for Indiana University trumps a potential first round selection. And why wouldn't OG leave? His stock isn't going to get much higher. I think you're living in a dream world if you honestly believe OG and Bryant aren't gone. -

One if any? OG, despite being less than 100% and not having quite the impact everyone expected so far, is considered a top 10 pick still by most publications. Bryant is somewhere in the Top 20, but I expect his stock to continue to rise. And Blackmon tested the waters already, and if he keeps scoring and shooting the kind of percentages he's shooting, I'd expect he's gone too. That's 3 really big holes to fill. -

The scary thing is, with the amount of star-power turnover at the end of this year, Galeon and McSwain may be in line for lots of playing time in 2017-18. -

I said this during the game, but why does Crean feel the need to go 10-11 deep? There shouldn't be that much of a rotation and it'll get IU beat in he tournament. I guess I understand the idea of not tiring your guys out this early in the season, but when you're playing another Top 15/20 team in a tight game that you really need to win because the rest of your non-conference schedule is garbage, let your stars play every minute they possibly can!!!!! It's like Crean is trying to prove to someone that this team is deep.. Ok, we get it.. But against Butler, you play your best guys for as close to 40 minutes as possible. -

Dude we haven't even played a freakin conference game yet and have two of the best wins of any team in the country right now. Proclaiming that your fandom is slipping and a huge win was a fluke is not only fair weather but a really lame statement overall. I'd be interested in seeing your comments after the Kansas and UNC wins. -

Not sure why Crean feels the need to go 10-11 deep.. Insane coaching logic. -

Are you serious? You're ready to say the Kansas game was a fluke and your fandom is slipping away after a little more than a half of bad basketball against one of the better coached teams in the country? Ever heard the term 'fair weather'? -
