(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Maybe this is a topic for another thread and I'm not trying to be smart here, but I absolutely HATE the 'FCTC' acronym. I actually cringe when I see it.. Why not just say Crean? It's one extra letter. Despite all that, your statement is 5000% right. lol. -
(2018) PG Robert Phinisee to Cincinnati
Baltimore Hoosier replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I don't see Morgan's name in any of the mock drafts I've seen luckily.. However, over the last week or two, he's been lighting it up, so that's sure to draw the attention of NBA scouts. I haven't completely given up hope on De'ron Davis. I think if he returns healthy, Morgan stays, Phinisee can come in and run the offense, Smith makes a jump, and Archie can bring in a ready-to-play guard (Romeo), this is a team to be reckoned with in the B1G and nationally next season. -
(2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA
Baltimore Hoosier replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Jackson-Davis is a must-get for IU. Hometown talent a stone's throw away from Bloomington. What a shot on Saturday night! -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Baltimore Hoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Last night's game illustrates just how bad this team desperately needs a guy like Langford.. Someone who can go to the rim or step out and consistently hit trey's. -
Newkirk continues to make bad decisions at pivotal moments in big games.. Freshman mistakes. This team would be so much more formidable with a legitimate PG. Just give me someone who can make smart decisions. PLEASE! At this point Green may be the best of two evils. At least he's crafty. ROJO was huge last night. He has been the only (somewhat) reliable scorer outside of Morgan.

Maryland at IU Game Thread
Baltimore Hoosier replied to Hoosier Guy's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Was just at the Maryland - Minnesota game last week.. IU MUST defend the three-ball in this one. Several of their guards can shoot, but especially Huerter, who has NBA range. -

Umm no I’m just not the type of guy who throws ridiculous accusations around with no proof. -

IUBB vs Fort Wayne - 12/18 @ 8:00 E.T.
Baltimore Hoosier replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Got it.. However, I am not aware of Trae Young making comments about wanting to come in and win a National Championship in year one. -
IUBB vs Fort Wayne - 12/18 @ 8:00 E.T.
Baltimore Hoosier replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That was really ugly last night.. Losing on your home floor to FORT f-ing WAYNE!? This is going to be a really difficult year. I'm not going to be surprised by anything that happens going forward with this team. They could lose at home by 30 to Youngstown State or pull off a win in East Lansing. You just don't know what you're gonna get. I will say this.. I think losing on your home turf to outmatched in-state opponents is a realllllly bad look when you are hoping to attract 5-star talent (Romeo). Especially when said recruits have said they want to come in and immediately compete for a National Championship. I think Romeo is a pipe-dream at this point. -
IU versus Duke Pre-game Thread
Baltimore Hoosier replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Hopefully IU can D-up on that lunatic Grayson Allen to prevent him from dropping 40. I don't care if they have to foul him, body him, hand check, whatever gets him out of his mind and crying so that he has one of his 3-20 nights from the field. At the same time, Davis, Morgan, and McSwain have got to get position down low and draw some fouls on Bagley and Carter.. Do both of those things, as well as limit turnovers and hit some 3's, and I could see an IU victory. If not, I think it'll be a long night for Hoosier fans. -
IU versus Duke Pre-game Thread
Baltimore Hoosier replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Love the optimism but that game in 2002 was basically a once in a lifetime type of win, to come back like that and beat THAT team... Completely insane. Flash forward 15 years. This Duke team is loaded with freshmen who can play (when Grayson Allen fouled out against Texas with a few minutes to play, Duke played the rest of the way with 5 freshmen) as well as a crafty senior in Grayson Allen, who can shoot 8-10 from three one game, and 1-10 the next. Just have to hope IU gets him on an off night. If you dodge that bullet, then you've got to account for Bagley, who is probably the closest thing to unguardable as there is. A poor man's Kevin Durant. Only not that much poorer... Juwan Morgan will probably draw the unfortunate duty of keeping up with him on Wednesday, and he will more than have his hands full. Stop those two guys, and Indiana has a chance. I like that Indiana has Seniors at both guard positions to battle with some relative inexperience when Trent and Duval are on the floor. Would be nice to see Davis draw some fouls on Carter and Bagley rather than commit the fouls. IU really needs him on the floor in this one. I'm predicting a 12-15 point Duke win but if things really go well for the Hoosiers (high shooting %'s/low foul %'s and minimal turnovers), they have a very outside chance of winning. -
IU versus Duke Pre-game Thread
Baltimore Hoosier replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I was at that game.. Sad that we’ve gotten to the point where some of the best memories for fans are losses. I’m expecting a comfortable Duke win in this one. Home crowd isn’t going to be enough to keep IU in it. -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

I’ve been preaching not setting expectations high with Langford. Gotta think the ball rolls towards Vandy now that Garland and Shittu are there. And let’s not forget Kansas. They are in a much better position to compete now. Indiana is the sentimental pick and that’s about it imo. -

Maybe he ends up at a big school.. But everything I know points to Vandy. Guess we shall see. -

How can anyone but the kid and his family know the answer to that? Why does any kid wait to commit? I'm giving my opinion based on the things I mentioned. -

I don't have 100% certainty. However, I can draw conclusions based on the current state of things as well as information I've been reading and things I've been hearing from my best friend, who is a Duke insider and also connected nationally. -

Baltimore Hoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Really don’t see Romeo commiting to IU. They aren’t anywhere near Kansas’s level.. And Vandy is going to end up with commitments from Garland and Shittu. Forming a ‘Big 3’ has to be appealing. Either of those two situations beats what Indiana has going on right now. Can’t help but feel like IU is just a sentimental finalist. -
(2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy
Baltimore Hoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
The cliff jumpers and cry babies can only blame themselves. I’ve seen poems, short stories, hell, even think I saw a limerick on why Indiana would end up with Garland and Langford. This is recruiting, not fantasy land. Archie did everything he could but it was too little, too late for IU in this case. I’d urge people to not make the same mistake with Langford. -
The sky isn’t falling but there is definitely a low hanging fog... gotta think the Garland and Langford families were watching that scratching their heads.

That’s a massive IF.. Also does this team immediately go from losing by 20 at home to Indiana State, to National Championship? Not so sure. -
