  1. That endzone camera on the punt showing the place filled to the tips was awesome.
  2. What’s a defense supposed to do about that? If they press him he’s just going to the corner, right? Looks basically unstoppable.
  3. If UCLA doesn’t figure out pretty quickly what Haines is doing up front Nico is not going to finish this game. They’re gonna beat that kid to death,
  4. That just feels way too complicated. Totally down with fakes, but if the ball’s got to hit like 4 different sets of hands that’s too much to go wrong.
  5. Just turned on the pregame. You’re being kind. Not to each their own. Get that creep out of IU gear, please. That sight is unspeakably gross.
  6. It’s funny listening to Fran try to comp him. In a high school I thought he was a more talented Brandon Roy. That’s still feels right to me. And people have forgotten how good that dude was.
  7. Darryn Peterson is such a freak. He makes scoring look like it’s just not at all hard.
  8. Physically, Ballo’s a pretty fair comp, except Diane looks naturally even a little bigger. Really can’t wait to see him up close in January. Watched a Border League game of his the other night and his conditioning is gonna need to get miles better to be any sort of rim runner. But what was pretty eye opening about that game was just watching him shoot it in warmups. He’s got this weird sort of Robert Parish-style release way up over his head and a little back of where you’d normally see it, it’s literally unblockable, and he made everything. Probably took 15 shots all the way out to 3 and didn’t miss. Then in the game he made a couple around 15’, a couple of jump hooks, straight bullied the poor kid trying to guard him into a dunk and then just yapped at him. Made a couple of nice passes. He doesn’t look that skilled, except he is. If you bring him in you’re gonna run stuff for him because you just have to. He’s too big and strong and the stroke is weird but pure and nobody in college is gonna guard him. Turning him into just a roll man would be wasting him.
  9. Yes. Very poorly phrased on my part. Will fix.
  10. Ahmed’s now down to Houston and BYU and is visiting Houston 11/1. Since that’s after Diane’s visit I would assume a Ahmed cancellation would be a bad sign for IU and an honored visit would encouraging.
  11. https://www.ncaa.org/news/2025/10/24/media-center-3-former-eastern-michigan-mens-basketball-student-athletes-did-not-cooperate-with-investigation-into-potential-sports-betting-conduct.aspx Release from the NCAA regarding an investigation into an Eastern Michigan game from January in which multiple players refused to cooperate. This is gonna get so ugly.
  12. The NBA record for free throws in a season is Wilt Chamberlain in 1961-62 with 1363. 17 per game. SGA:
  13. I think they have Brazile and Ewin, who’ve got to both be seniors by now, and seem to vaguely remember something about a Eurokid. So I imagine they’ll have minutes.
  14. Putting aside any NIL advantage IU might have, if you’re a 6’7” elite athlete, and Karvala is a Troy Williams-level athlete, and you see that Marian game with that pace of play that’s what you’re looking for.
  15. That doesn’t sound at all right, He’d already taken 1 to Iowa, though maybe it wasn’t an official. I don’t believe that’s correct.
  16. Mendoza: “So, Vaughn, congrats on that Cal offer. Berkeley’s awesome. And just wait for that 1st time you take that 5 hr flight and get back there at 2am on a Wednesday morning after getting your a$$ whooped in Raleigh, NC on the late ESPN game. Sounds killer, huh?” Karvala: “Uhhh”
  17. Rozier has signed contracts worth $160,000,000. He's in his last year of this one at 26 mil. And he's still good enough to have probably gotten 1 more short deal. Who in God's name risks that plus their reputation plus their freedom for anything at all? This isn't even a question of being not smart, obviously there are people with serious issues with this stuff, but you have this thing called life effectively licked. God, could he really not seek help?
  18. Xavier’s a very good offer. New HC, good facilities, great fan support, elite conference. I can see a kid saying yes to them. Cal, Jesus, I don’t know what Madsen’s supposed to do there. That is a brutal gig.
  19. No opinion on the kid at all, haven’t watched a second of him, but if they’re not hard on a 6’11” athlete from Marion County would think it’s way more likely to be the latter than the former.
  20. Literally the DAY AFTER the NCAA announces that college athletes and coaches can bet on pro sports. This is gonna go really, really well.
  21. Maybe something, maybe nothing: Houston is a finalist for 21yo G-League Center Abdullah Ahmed. Spent the last 2 years playing for the Knicks’ affiliate. Is still waiting for eligibility clearance, but, c’mon. Would assume Houston wouldn’t take both him and Diane. Fwiw
  22. That is a really good get. Those kids have crazy high ceilings.
  23. https://www.on3.com/news/how-g-league-players-can-now-play-college-basketball/ Some explanation of the NCAA’s thinking on the G-League situation. If I’m reading this correctly it sounds like any undrafted G-League players still within their 5 year post-HS window will be eligible to make the London Johnson move. Sounds a little murky as far as whether they were in the draft but undrafted vs a kid like Johnson who hasn’t gone through the draft process. The old days of the Fab 5 getting envelopes from Ed Martin seem positively cute now.
  24. Here’s a hypothetical for you: how much would Damon Bailey have made between 4 years of high school and 4 years at IU in the modern era? 50 mil? More?
