Got to confess, despite him being in 2 of probably my 5 favorite movies ever, To Kill a Mockingbird and The Godfather, and knowing that he was objectively great, never felt like I was really a fan of Duvall specifically. But then you look at the filmography in print and it’s just nuts and you realize that he wasn’t just great, he was GREAT.

Are those times correct? Are 3 of them on at the same time? They couldn’t do 2 630’s and 2 830’s?

The insanity of NBA draft Twitter is always good for a laugh. Here we have a guy intrigued by a player because his profile compares closely to a player on a 2 way who’s played all of 25 games in the League in 3 years. Not knocking Chinyelu, I think he’s a good bit better than Tshiebwe for multiple reasons, but this is the least flattering comp that’s supposed to be a compliment that I think I’ve ever seen.

Just like Ellison last year, love it so much. How do you build a sustainable culture in the portal era? Like this.

As much as I like Moody if he’s your PG next year either someone has gotten hurt, maybe a couple of someone’s, or their plans really went sideways somehow. He has some PG traits and he has the chance to evolve into a primary facilitator down the line, but he’s not Kinney or Rippey who’ve always been PG’s. That would be asking a lot.

Getting the early start on the next guy.

Yup. Despite the UCLA game, and their crowd is terrible, this game feels too big for Dorn. And if he’s not making shots he has no way to help you. I’d like to see Conerway find some rhythm. Maybe not this game, but that cross match that Purdue was doing with Enright and DeVries would be highly exploitable with Conerway on the floor and playing well.

(2025 Transfer) QB Cal - Fernando Mendoza to Indiana

Richardson is such a great example. The Pierce throw might be an all-time play, but how is just straight missing open guys with open throwing lanes not considered an arm talent problem? -
(2025 Transfer) QB Cal - Fernando Mendoza to Indiana

Other than, ya know, The Play and the Ponds pick 6 this was my favorite play in the playoffs. Lasers a throw from the left hash to the right sideline into a hole the size of a milk crate. Nuts. On QB evals I’ll never get why the arm talent data point isn’t essentially binary. When people talk about this kid not having “elite” arm talent, what are they actually talking about? What throw in an NFL playbook has he not demonstrated that he can make comfortably? Watched 4 Oregon games this year and I really need the explanation for why Moore has “elite” arm talent and Mendoza’s has “good” arm talent. -
Watching this game right now. Allow me to save anyone wanting to watch it about 20 mins of your life. Fast forward to about 6:00 in the 2nd qtr. At that point he has 1 pt on 0-3 and at about 5:00 he proceeds to explode. Scores 8 pts in about a minute including a 3 that was all of 28’ and he’s off and running from there. Scores 23 in the 2nd half. 2 side notes: 1) LaLu has former Woody offer and ND signee Jonathon Sanderson and he’s a very solid 4 yr PG prospect. Like him a good bit. Keeping in the back of my mind the possibility that if Shrewsberry gets cut loose and Sanderson reopens his recruitment he could absolutely make sense for DDV as a spring offer. 2) They also have a PU commit named Jacob Webber. Be prepared to be annoyed by that kid. He has an incredibly pronounced jackknife in his stroke and he’s gotten 2 foul calls on 3’s where kid’s haven’t really been contesting that closely but he’s managed to kick them and get the calls.

(2027) - Jason Gardner Jr.

Still in a molded hard brace. That doesn’t look real promising in the near term. -
(2027) PG - Chase Branham to INDIANA
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
If Branham was playing at one of the factories he’d be consensus top 15 in ‘27 already. And he still may end up that way. Getting an early commitment from that kid was a straight steal. -
What happened? Did he just straight up Steve Sax the throw?

Pretty ugly for OSU. Not a lot of shooting on that roster other than Mobley and their end of season schedule is nasty.
-
The game IU had at home against Iowa is exactly the same game Iowa is having at home against PU. They look just flat out unprepared.

Wow, Momcilovic from ISU dropping an absolute ain’t-nothin’-you’re-gonna-do-about-it 3 on Bidunga. Kid plays perfect D and it just doesn’t matter.

Certainly one of the best looking shooters. And he made I believe 5 3’s last night, though he also aired out 2. But right now that’s what he’s got because the rest of his game is a ways away from helping. Side note: The HC of the St James School is none other than Book Richardson, who fell on the grenade for Sean Miller at Arizona back in the day.

Oh look, Trinidad Chambliss got another year. But that only makes 6 so, ya know.

I think there’s a fair element of “act like you’ve been there before” at play with schools like KU that maybe we’re lacking a bit at this point. Went to a Bama-Mizzou a few yrs ago when Saban really had them rolling and that fanbase couldn’t have been nicer or more indulgent as they were boat racing Mizzou. There was a lot of “you guys are gonna get it together, really.”
