Watching this game right now. Allow me to save anyone wanting to watch it about 20 mins of your life. Fast forward to about 6:00 in the 2nd qtr. At that point he has 1 pt on 0-3 and at about 5:00 he proceeds to explode. Scores 8 pts in about a minute including a 3 that was all of 28’ and he’s off and running from there. Scores 23 in the 2nd half. 2 side notes: 1) LaLu has former Woody offer and ND signee Jonathon Sanderson and he’s a very solid 4 yr PG prospect. Like him a good bit. Keeping in the back of my mind the possibility that if Shrewsberry gets cut loose and Sanderson reopens his recruitment he could absolutely make sense for DDV as a spring offer. 2) They also have a PU commit named Jacob Webber. Be prepared to be annoyed by that kid. He has an incredibly pronounced jackknife in his stroke and he’s gotten 2 foul calls on 3’s where kid’s haven’t really been contesting that closely but he’s managed to kick them and get the calls.

(2027) - Jason Gardner Jr.

Still in a molded hard brace. That doesn’t look real promising in the near term. -
(2027) PG - Chase Branham to INDIANA
Demo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
If Branham was playing at one of the factories he’d be consensus top 15 in ‘27 already. And he still may end up that way. Getting an early commitment from that kid was a straight steal. -
What happened? Did he just straight up Steve Sax the throw?

Pretty ugly for OSU. Not a lot of shooting on that roster other than Mobley and their end of season schedule is nasty.

The game IU had at home against Iowa is exactly the same game Iowa is having at home against PU. They look just flat out unprepared.

Wow, Momcilovic from ISU dropping an absolute ain’t-nothin’-you’re-gonna-do-about-it 3 on Bidunga. Kid plays perfect D and it just doesn’t matter.

Certainly one of the best looking shooters. And he made I believe 5 3’s last night, though he also aired out 2. But right now that’s what he’s got because the rest of his game is a ways away from helping. Side note: The HC of the St James School is none other than Book Richardson, who fell on the grenade for Sean Miller at Arizona back in the day.

Oh look, Trinidad Chambliss got another year. But that only makes 6 so, ya know.

I think there’s a fair element of “act like you’ve been there before” at play with schools like KU that maybe we’re lacking a bit at this point. Went to a Bama-Mizzou a few yrs ago when Saban really had them rolling and that fanbase couldn’t have been nicer or more indulgent as they were boat racing Mizzou. There was a lot of “you guys are gonna get it together, really.”

Yup. The difference between Wilkerson and a kid like Hood-Schifino is that JHS has a broader array of skills but no elite ones. That needs some luck to find a niche. Not only does Wilkerson have an elite skill, he’s got the hands down best one to have.

Saw someone the other day reference Nas Anderson as 6’5”. That is the mother of all stretcheroos. That kid is probably 6’2”ish. -
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/46886245/2026-nba-draft-big-board-rankings-top-100-prospects-players ESPN’s latest draft board update. DeVries at 76 and Wilkerson outside their top 100, so basically undraftable. I’m gonna call my Wilkerson draft shot right now: Dude will get a Portsmouth invite and play well there. That’ll get him a combine invitation where he’ll test ok, not great, and have at least one pretty good game. So he’ll come out with some curiosity and get a bunch of workout invitations. At at least one of them, and probably more, he’s gonna be having one of those days where he’s making everything and then have the added benefit of the perfect workout partner, some 20yo he outweighs by 25lbs, and he’s just gonna overpower that kid taking him to the rim and his defense will play just well enough. Then he’s gonna interview great and some GM is gonna look at his HC and say, “Hey, explain to me why that kid can’t eventually give you a pretty decent approximation of Desmond Bane for a fraction of the money?” And that HC is just gonna nod at him and sometime mid 2nd someone’s taking him and signing him to a 2-way. And then somewhere down the road he’ll be with the NBA team, he’s gonna put a couple of very nice games together back to back and he’s gonna stick and hang for a decent while. I am straight up a believer.

What is up with Malik Reneau’s hair? If he wanted to cut the braids, no problem, but the haircut looks like every supporting character in every 70’s blaxploitation flick. No way he’s looking in the mirror and thinking, “Yeah, this is workin’.”

Yup. Remember, maybe it was Chuck Marlowe, asking RMK about that line and him replying that he loved it because there were only 3 guys in the BIg Ten who could shoot it and he had 2 of them.

Delphi with IU up the 9 line.

You could make a totally reasonable argument that Alford was the greatest shooter in the history of CBB. Yeah, you had to run stuff for him, but with the exception of 1 game against I think Wisky where he shot 1 for a million that dude spent 4 years making everything.
