Could be an interesting 3rd big if he can get a waiver. Played 1 year at a JC. Didn’t start last year at Arkansas but played a lot.

Ok, so this revenue would at least theoretically be closely held by the schools/Leagues and not factored into the athletes’ pool, correct? So, and like it’s not almost comically the case already, P4 schools, and particularly the top of the food chain P4 schools, are just gonna swamp everyone else in resources and facilities and every other damned thing, that about it? Basically another step towards a P2 conference structure with about 30 Taj Mahal programs and everyone else is just along for the ride. Great

Ok, can someone please explain to stupid guy what this means. I thought associated entities were any outside revenue streams available to the program, be it shoe companies or, ya know, Waffle House. Why would these be different?

Imagine he’ll get it given the emotional element that he almost died combined with the precedent that was set with Tyron Grant-Foster. But the thing is that despite looking like a computer designed 5 he’s just not a very good player. Read somewhere that his sister was in the portal and is going to Mich St. Frankly, if he ends up there that would be fine with me. He’s not gonna improve them.

Will be a nice get for someone. Big, strong kid with some present skill and 3 years of eligibility.

Stronga$$ offers ain’t what they used to be.

Agree. Assume at this point it probably won’t be Olsen specifically but now that you have a Burton who really likes to get in the lane and distort defenses, a Mustaf who’s primarily a straight line diver who needs lanes and Yigitoglu who’s primarily a roll man and finisher a floor spacing 4 would be a really, really useful piece to add. Side note: Have already become tired of trying to remember and then type our new C’s name. It’s not sticking at all. Not even close. So going forward he’s The Turk. That’s what I’m going with. That I’ll remember, -

Given the roster as it stands now I’d be pretty surprised if this one’s a thing. -
College money is now officially ridiculously out of hand if a kid whose floor in the draft is no worse than late lottery would even consider going back to school. Don’t care if there’s a good developmental argument for a kid like Ament to stay in school, and there is, it should be a complete financial nonstarter. The 12th pick in last year’s draft signed for 4/25.

(2027) PG - Chase Branham to INDIANA

Here’s our boy diving for a 50/50 ball during a travel ball game in April. Follows that up with chasing down a loose ball and just casually burying a corner 3. If that doesn’t do a little something for you not sure what will. -

100%. And not second week because you finished 8th in the conference and eked into Dayton and then upset a couple of teams. 2nd week because you were solid all year and were a 4/5 kind of seed at least. -

1 of the early portal kids I wanted to see the staff in on.

The 4th leading scorer on the 11th place team in the Big 12 did pretty well for himself. We’ll see what Loucks does with him.

As backup 5 options go that would be a fairly stunning get. -
Today’s Mullins’ 20th birthday. I’m sure this came up around here during his recruitment but I’d forgotten that he’s notably old for his class. Imagine it’s a good decision both developmentally and from a depth of talent pool perspective to stay another year but there’s also some risk given how the League looks at prospects once they turn 21.

He played 3 years for Izzo, right? How could he possibly have eligibility?

As a break the glass extra PG candidate would go this feels about right. -

Keita would be the absolute dream scenario. That’s it right there. Absurdly talented but really young, he may have just turned 18. and not ready to really help much. But a 10 min type of niche role would make a ton of sense for everyone concerned. 18 months of physical/skill development and he could be pretty blinding as a sophomore. -

RIP to the great Oscar Schmidt. If you’re too young to know who he was you need to dig in. Without any question at all the greatest player to never play in the NBA. Saw him drop a million or so on a David Robinson-led American college team at the ‘87 Pan American games in Indy that started the outcry that ultimately lead to the Dream Team. 1 of the greatest scorers ever and, side note, Kobe Bryant’s hero.
