Been trying to figure out all year why Haines isn’t the hot coordinator HC candidate this cycle other than still fighting brand bias. I mean, the 41yo DC of the undefeated #2 team who’s been kicking everyone’s a$$ all year were he doing so at, say, Michigan would be up for a really good gig this cycle.

But I worked for a guy about a hundred years ago who said that if you see a coaching staff standing around and you can’t tell who the HC is without asking then they don’t have one. The guy’s just not a leader. Watching him interact with players, anytime he’s making public pronouncements, any video of him interacting in the Colts complex, he looks like a kid wearing dad’s suit. The role’s too big for him. I’ll be happy to be wrong but I don’t believe in the guy in any way.

Not sure what I clicked on, but Elon’s algo has inundated me with UMass sports and that might be the most beaten down, defeated fanbase I have ever run across. The announcers in the Northwestern-UVA game just described Thijs de Ridder of UVA as “the 21 year old true freshman.” Since that little factoid could have been prefaced by, “Hey Demo, we’re gonna pi$$ you off now” I was forced to check and the kid turns 22 in January.
