As much as I loathe little brother, that’s a shame. Mockobee’s a man. Walked on and hung through multiple crappy coaches. Nothing but respect for that kid.

Is that Mason Miller, son of Mike Miller and former Woody offeree, that Mason Miller?

I see the value of Conerway/Enright as far as trying to control dibble penetration for sure. But, man, I wish they had 1 more primary ball handler in the rotation. Subbing out Conerway before the U16 TO in both exhibition games to bring him back for Enright before the U12 just felt awkward, though I guess it worked ok.

I imagine you’re right about DeVries defending some 5’s and holding up because they would limit it to some niche situations and he wouldn’t be playing 10 mins at a time on a real post scorer. Ant Wright wrote the other day, and I hope he’s wrong, that he thinks at some point in the year Sisley will be the starting 4 in place of Enright and DeVries would be playing on the wing. Don’t love that at all. Against any legit wing scorer that can put it on the floor that feels like foul trouble. Against a kid like Carr the other day he would have had no shot. That’s why I am super hopeful that when he’s ready Dorn is good enough to give them real minutes. They really need a longer wing option.

RIP to Bob Trumpy. Really good player, Hall of Fame analyst, Cincinnati institution for 50 years and from all indications a really good dude. Recall a story about him literally talking someone out of suicide on his radio show. That the Bengals never appropriately celebrated that guy tells you all you need to know about the Brown family.

Wow. Just listened to Steve Sarkisian describe UT literally quitting playing in the 4th qtr and giving up 21 unanswered and only surviving by Vandy being unable to keep an onside kick in bounds to barely hang on at home as “a tribute to our culture.” Yeah, I’d say that displays their culture very clearly. God, I hate listening to coaches sometimes.

And there was a time in the not too distant past when IUFB Twitter might have posted the exact same thing.

Congrats to the young man and welcome. Side note: Kid’s upper body looks nothing like that. -
The extent to which Texas has just quit playing and is just stumbling to run out the clock is something.
-
One of the under-appreciated great things about this IU team is DB’s that freaking tackle. Watching Texas’s DB’s calculating how to get a ball carrier on the ground without actually having to hit them and missing a million tackles as a result makes me love a 175lbs Ponds tackling guys all the more.

You’re 100% right and that’s the common sense viewpoint because this is flat out the reality now. I just can’t get there yet. There are a lot of devils in college sports just now and for me Pavia’s one of them. Suing for JC years being dumped against eligibility? Spare me, of course they should count. And in football it’s worse. The 1st time some 25yo 6th yr growna$$ man LB busts an 18yo true freshman WR in half on a slant pattern and does a Darryl Stingley on him because that kid’s not physically ready for that yet that’s gonna be on the Jay Bilas’ of the world who’ve been advocating for this nonsense like a Pavia is somehow the real victim. Sorry, rant over.
-
Normally would reliably root hard for a Vandy over a Texas. But I so loathe Pavia and the whole 6 year 25 year old college guy thing that I find myself absolutely wanting Texas to stomp’em.

Rhett Lashlee is apparently signing an extension with SMU. Seems to be a lot of that going around. Tell ya what, no idea which school it’ll be, but by the time the musical chairs are all filled in this cycle one of the power conference AD’s is gonna be rolling out a really, really underwhelming hire. LEO, anyone?

Exactly what I thought! -
https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/maryland-coach-says-he-chose-not-to-pay-iu-footballs-roman-hemby-kellen-wyatt/ Nice read from Schumann. Locksley suggesting he could have kept Hemby and Wyatt if he’d been willing to “overpay” them really galls me. It’s not “overpaying” Coach, it’s what the market will bear. I really hope Hemby drops about 200yds on them.

Been thinking about this a fair bit: If Cig hadn’t done what he’s done, say 5-7 last year and trending to 7-5 this year, something like that, how many of these guys would have actually been fired at this point rather than just being under pressure? Kelly, Franklin, Napier, hell , even Pittman, would they have just been straight cut loose mid-season? I find it pretty hard to believe they would. But these donors and AD’s see this guy turn a dreck program into THIS and they look at their guy and say WTH. Cig is literally ending careers. Dude’s the Grim Reaper.
