Nothing about the Jets rates that kid. And the Raiders fired Kelly as OC, right? So they’ll be in a position to bring in a guy who really fits what you want to do with him. I like it.

Pretty much as good as you can play short of playing at 1 of the Prep factories. At City of Palms they’ve played Wheeler, which may be the best program in Georgia and has 3 HM kids including Colben Landrew who’s going to UConn, and Garfield Heights, which has Marcus Johnson who’s a top 50 kid going to South Carolina after de committing from Ohio State. Also, McNamara plays in the DC Catholic League which year in/year is as good a conference as there is in the country. Paul VI, DeMatha, Bishop O’Connell, there are a million D1 kids in that league. Moody’s doing it against real kids.

I agree with the caveat that I think the field’s already too big. Personally, I think it should be 4 and that should be the end of it. If someone wants 6 with 2 byes, fine. If they insist on 8, ok, I guess. But 12 is too many. If the field is big enough that a 3 loss team is under serious consideration under any circumstances at all then the field’s already too big. This idea of going to 16 with all these auto bids like the B1G is proposing is ridiculous. And if some non-P4 can get in based on resume/eye test, cool, love it. But an auto bid is stupid. There’s no FDU-Purdue scenario in football. JMU and Tulane could have played those games 100 times and they would have lost them all.

Dude flat out stopped coaching. You got to pick up the ball and force him to at least change direction and not just walk into the damned thing. That’s infuriating.

Seems like a fair comparison. Will say this about Altmeyer, while his O-line was getting whooped he stayed pretty focused. Simpson has moments when he looks absolutely spooked. I think he’s better than Mateer, but you’ve a chance to get that kid to fold in a way that I think Mateer wouldn’t.

Can someone explain the Kyle Whittingham to Michigan talk to me? I get why they’d want him, but why would he want them? Didn’t he just retire from a place where he’s a god because he’s 65 and he flat out said he didn’t want to deal with the new realities of CFB? And then he’d go to UM and deal with all their $hit? That sounds wrong. Dude’s never struck me as a “the check’s too big to pass” guy at all. What am I missing? Side note: if he does do it he owes Cig a residual check. OMG. Barry Odom has apparently hired back Ryan Walters’ DC at Purdue, Kevin Kane, to be his DC. You remember, the guy who gave up 66 to IU? That guy. Not sure that hire closes the gap to Cig/Haines for little brother.

How many worse tackling games do you see at this level? Bama DB’s are straight turning down hits. If there’s one criticism of DeBoer that’s 100% merited it’s how physical Bama no longer is. And yet they’re still in it.
