  1. Nice timing on posting this. I am driving down tonight to see Mohammed play against, swear to God, Halfway HS. Halfway is 15-3, so hopefully they provide the kid a little competition.
  2. They tag Love as a PG as well. Maybe he plays point during the AAU season, and physically he’s prototypical. But I’ve now seen him 3 times this year, and he plays almost exclusively off the ball. They run him off a lot of down screens and initiate for him on the wing. He then either a) attacks the rim, usually baseline, and he’s a very strong finisher, b) creates a little space for an iffy 3, or c) just reverses the ball. Hasn’t shown me even flashes of a PG mentality. Other than defensively, where he’s a legit badass, I’m not really a fan yet.
  3. I will admit, seeing guys coming off screens, receiving the pass on time and rising in rhythm and shooting a 3 with complete confidence is sort of fun to watch. I vaguely remember what that looks like.
  4. Yup. MSU can’t throw it in the ocean. Looks very familiar. Purdue is also getting a great whistle. Virtually tackling guys coming off screens. Not 1 called. So much for freedom of movement.
  5. I can’t watch until later. Relying on y’all to be highly descriptive.
  6. The article is just generic boilerplate. “Recruit to a specific culture.” “Hard work and grit.” Drivel. Unique amenities? Please. We all love AH as a Mecca. To 17 year olds, it’s a Big 10 arena. I’m not saying he isn’t correct. Kent just provides nothing new or insightful. If that took him more than 5 minutes to write, than it’s because he’s a slow typist. The really interesting part is the comments. 1 commenter writing that Juwan and Romeo are the only players worth a damn. The very next guy says they shouldn’t be playing because they’re just looking at the next level. Nothing but primal screams. We’ll see if Archie’s the guy. But I am 100% confident that the guy has a vision for the program. I’m sure it includes “hard work” and “grit”. Hopefully it also includes, ya know, shooters.
  7. Not sure about that shot. Release looks low and slow. Needs work. Other than that, the rest of his game looks super solid. Seems to be virtually ambidextrous. His left hand drives/finishes/passes look great. Love that. He and Franklin could be really nasty defensively on the perimeter.
  8. Just got done watching it and he was much better than the only other time I’d seen him, which was the New Albany game at Southport last year. Now I really get the appeal. Competed and played with energy. I hadn’t heard or read just how quick the kid is laterally. Very impressive. With his height and length he could be a lockdown defender if he has the mindset. Didn’t shoot it great from 3, but I imagine he can. The stroke is really nice. Definitely excited now. took a really awkward fall, and looked to me like an ACL for sure. Thankfully not.
  9. I don’t remember KC bringing pressure at any point in the 4th or OT. 100% sure they didn’t in the OT. Their d-line wasn’t getting close. Gutless coaching.
  10. Romo is making this sound like the ultimate gunfight. In reality, neither Brady nor Mahomes has been all that good.
  11. So the Blackmon family is going to end up with something like 8,000 pts. That is stone nuts.
  12. Can’t get over it. Zion has done exactly nothing special to get back to his left hand, and yet Hunter has let him back to it every single time that he’s scored. Must be bad coaching.
  13. Yeah, I tried that one after the Nebraska game, along with Beilein, Wright and Barnes. Fan frustration defies the “it takes time” argument. And frankly, getting whacked at Mackey makes it tough.
  14. Love and CBC plays Vashon on 2/5. Vashon has a Pg named Mario McKinney, who’s a 6’2” top 100ish kid going to Mizzou. Kind of wild, but an absolutely elite athlete. Really looking forward to seeing Love match up with him.
  15. Doubt that you’ll get hammered, but I do disagree. Soft kids don’t keep taking the ball to the rim when they’re getting beat up when they get there. Soft kids don’t take over in the 2nd half of road games like he did at Maryland. Kid’s having a bad game and he’s clearly frustrated. Doesn’t mean he’s soft. Really good players have really bad games. It happens.
  16. So where do you put him?
  17. It’s fun to talk about the details and minutiae. But shot making trumps everything. Most important skill in the game. This isn’t a good shooting roster. Nothing can fix or mitigate that.
  18. I get it too. And to be fair, he has played Edwards better than anyone else. Much better. But, on a good team, he doesn’t play.
  19. Try not lose your mind watching him knowing that those would be Hunter’s minutes. I think he would have been the 3rd best player on this team by now,
  20. Then somebody needs to cribsheet him, because Gus is the man.
  21. They even showed it overhead on replay and nobody mentioned it.
  22. Wow, did they really just show Walter Jordan on that network out? Good player, but does anyone under 55 remember him at all?
  23. You’re right. Great kid, but he doesn’t appear to demand accountability. Nobody on this roster appears to be that kind of kid.
  24. Because he cut off the baseline and Rob dribbled into him. Of course it was a charge.
  25. Smith fails to call out a screen. Romeo gets picked off and Cline gets a wide open look. And nobody says anything to Smith. On floor leadership is nonexistent.
