  1. True, but nobody in cbb gets a better whistle than Grant Williams.
  2. Moss is literally the last option on the floor. What is he doing? And that was an obvious walk by Williams before the Bone 3.
  3. Bohannon hits that shot 10 out of 10 against IU
  4. Thought this was a pretty bad matchup for Iowa. But I thought they’d compete. What an embarrassment.
  5. Between what Michigan did to them and what Purdue is doing to them, I’m gonna go ahead and say that Nova wants no part of the Big Ten again for awhile.
  6. Murray St couldn’t have gotten a better matchup than Marquette. And they couldn’t have gotten a worse one than Florida St. Morant is obviously the best player on the floor. But the next 10 best players are all Florida St. Florida St’s guards are outrebounding Murray’s bigs.
  7. Did anyone else notice Hunter standing next to Langford at that timeout. He’s got 2” on him. If Langford is actually 6’6”, that makes Hunter a full 6’8”. I’d heard that a couple of times but didn’t believe it. I do now.
  8. Dakich is right about that foul on Smith being on Green. You can’t give that ball to Smith unless he has a straight line finish. He can’t process on the move. Just can’t.
  9. Since when is sliding 6 ft with the ball not a walk? Glad it didn’t matter.
  10. Kept hearing all year how good Utah St is. Didn’t watch them before, but they must have picked a bad night to be lousy. But there lack of athleticism is just glaring. Not sure how good they can be unless they’re just making everything. And the Dickerson kid from Wash has just abused their kid in the post.
  11. Looking forward to Buffalo-Texas Tech more than any other game this weekend. Those teams really leave it on the floor. No idea how it’s gonna go. Could be played in the 60’s and could be played in the 80’s.
  12. The most disrespected on court moment of my life was courtesy of Ark Coach Mike Anderson. Went with some of my teammates over to Tulsa U to play with some of the TU guys, one of whom was Anderson. Got loose on the baseline for what I thought was an easy layup. Anderson, who was a 6’9” ATHLETE, closed about 10’ and spiked my layup off the board so hard that it sounded like a gunshot. He runs down next to me and says, “Man, you got NO chance in here.” No problem. Couple of games later, I get free into the lane, I see Greg Stewart, another 6’9” kid, out of the corner of my eye so I throw up a little teardrop. I did not see Anderson, who goes up and just catches my shot out of the air. I crash into him and am laying on the ground. He is standing over me, palming my shot, looks down at me, and says, “Boy, what did I TELL you?” Yeah, I learned that time, only jumpers for me after that. Played over there a few times and Anderson was a really good dude. Glad he’s done well.
  13. Ok, I’ll try to help. One is a 6’8” kid who has gotten it done in one of the best Conferences in the State and who, because of both class and timing, is someone one would have to look at and make a relatively quick judgement about. The other is a 6’ kid who has gotten it done against a bunch of kids whose next career step is Church league. A kid who at the moment lacks the athleticism to play high D1, hence the reason he has, I believe, 0 offers but since he’s over 2 years from entering college has the time and opportunity to perhaps develop. Hence, he’s a follow, rather than an offer.
  14. Actually, I was thinking Collin Hartman before his body broke down.
  15. http://inbasketballsource.com/recruiting-news/6072-jake-laravia-re-opens-recruitment Would love to get a breakdown from someone who knows his game. Snow called him the best offensive player in Marion County. Read somewhere that he’s a year young for his class. Doesn’t turn 18 until Nov. Interesting.
  16. Furst is so much better than that. If he plays the full summer circuit, will be pretty surprised if he’s not a consensus top 15 kid in the fall.
  17. Seen Valpo maybe 3 times in 2 yrs, so I’m sure someone will be able to provide better insight. What I saw was: lefty, good size, ok length, runs well enough, lateral movement is not good, not strong, fair hands, decent low post fundamentals, has a little jump hook, can face up and make a 15 footer, pretty good vision out of the post, defense is not good, can’t recover from a hedge, not a rim protector other than shear size, fouls a lot, mostly due to movement issues. If I were game planning I would just put in high ball screen action over and over because he has no chance to defend it. Might have a niche role as a 1 year rental, but seems like a fit problem for CAM’s defensive scheme.
  18. This is it, right here. No coach turns these games down. Calipari accepted an NIT bid the year after he won the freaking National Championship. You work with your players as much and for as long as you can. If people don’t want to watch, don’t watch. I get why. But I love basketball and I’m gonna watch every minute.
  19. Assuming IU doesn’t get in, I will flat out be rooting for Tenn this year. My favorite team to watch. So cohesive and compete like crazy. Also, I think it would be great for the game to see a team without a single elite recruit and a Coach who was fired from his last gig win it.
  20. Not a conspiracy theorist, usually, but 5 mins into the 2nd half and Washington, despite taking the ball to the rim all night, hasn’t shot a free throw. And a terrible charge call as I type. Getting utterly screwed.
  21. Admiral Schofield just destroyed some poor Miss St kid. One of the posters of the year in CBB.
  22. Didn’t watch the announcement, so it may have been discussed then, but once UK ran through their higher priorities and got around to focusing on Brooks, i think it was effectively over. That’s where he wanted to be. His quotes in Corey Evans article make it clear that he bought into the Calipari pitch 100%. He didn’t care about going where he was most wanted or had friends or any of that nonsense. He and the folks bought into the completely fallacious snow job that Cal creates one and dones. They focused on a kid like Tyler Herro, who is probably the first mutiyear player that has grown into a OAD rather than the many OAD types who didn’t develop. A kid who really wants UK doesn’t want IU, and vice versa. It would be like saying you can’t decide if you want a porterhouse for dinner or maybe go vegan. They’re non-responsive.
  23. The kid was patient enough to wait out higher UK priorities to land where he clearly wanted to be. Definition of a business decision. Good for him. I hope experiencing that brazenly mercenary culture is everything he’s hoping for.
  24. Yeah, but maybe not THIS particular time.
