Buss is still a junior? Wow. If I remember it correctly, he was a year old for his class when we recruited him. If so, he'll be finishing his eligibility at, I believe, 25. There are NBA guys on their 2nd contract by then.

Not happy about this one at all. Wanted to see Eastern somewhere else. Kid's a really good player. Keep seeing him listed as a wing. He's not. He's a legit 6'6" PG. Terrific court vision, really understands angles and how to use his size. If he can improve his shot, release is slow, and his lateral quickness, defending really good college PG's will be an issue early on, I think he's a pro.

Mike Schmitz does terrific work. For anyone unfamiliar with him I highly recommend as regular reading/viewing.

Literally impossible to envision. A guy with the level of ambition to accept a job like Indiana is not the kind of guy who would then leave for a job like Vandy. No chance. None.

Now that we're into transfer season, an elite athlete with a D1-ready body is going to see much better offers. If CTC wants this kid unconditionally, it's full court press time.

The 62 turnovers looks a little scary, but it looks like 16 were in 3 games. Troy would be proud. Seriously, that Hudl video is some pretty breathtaking explosiveness. Looks a lot like Jordan Bell from Oregon. The jumper would need some serious retooling, but there aren't many coaching staffs better at that than ours.

If Thomas comes back this looks to me like, physically, the best roster top to bottom since the early 90's. Size, depth, athleticism and shooting. Love it. Troy staying worries me, but not because of his inconsistent play. I worry about him as a leader and the team kind taking of on some of that hair on fire thing he has going on. This year's seniors were such grinders. Troy, past mistakes aside, seems like a good kid, but absolutely not a grinder. CTC has intimated several times that he's not exactly the hardest working kid he's coached. Think I'd rather have this team evolve into Rojo's and\or Bryant's team, maybe even Hartman's, than Troy's.

Is that supposed to be CTC? Looks like he had a few dozen celebratory wings after the game.

Then you need Brey to break out that "zone" they were playing in the 1st half again. That was about as passive and bad as a zone gets.

True, but unless having his ego stroked by the alumni is a big part of the equation for him, and it may well be, I would think Dixon could do a good bit better. He's a really solid coach, I just don't see how he competes for and wins the best Texas kids against a guy the caliber of Smart and UT's resources. Kind of feels like taking the NC State job with Duke and UNC right around the corner, except TCU is a worse job than NC State. If he does do it, I hope he negotiates himself a Texas sized buyout.

Wow. Surely he's doing a Painter-to-Mizzou power play to Pitt. TCU is a pretty tough gig under any circumstances. But now that Smart is at UT, I'm not sure why someone like Dixon would touch it.

Crean coached an incredible game. Just a joy to watch that one.

Pick any 1 from that assembly line of roid rage bigs from the 80's. If I have to pick 1, Jim Rowinski.

The question on OG's HS coaching is actually kind of an interesting one. Jeff City is a pretty mediocre program in a really mediocre conference. OG probably didn't play against 5 D-1 players in his entire career. His coach was a guy named Blair Thompson, who has no reputation at all state-wide. But he was on the staff of Kim Anderson, the Mizzou Coach, at CMSU for a while. And Mizzou's problems aside, Kim Anderson is a really smart Coach, kind of a Jim Crews type. So my guess is that he was better coached than a lot of kids from higher profile programs.

Really liked him when I saw in HS. Reminded of some of those crazy long kids that Boeheim used to recruit who were way under the radar but always made his zone pretty impenetrable. But it never occurred to me that he would be a rotation player this year. No chance. Just amazed by his adaptability and intelligence. The kid just doesn't force anything. Love him. Btw: anybody else notice that point yesterday where he was standing next to Troy before a FT and had maybe 2" on him?

No. Our class is currently 2 4* kids, a late rising 3* and a largely unranked kid, who, due to his Hoosier DNA, must possess at least 4* intangibles. Or so people keep telling me. And we're still in on Maker, who's a 5* by any definition. Everything I read about Green portrays him as a tough, competitive, driven kid. If true, to me that's as Hoosier as it gets and I'm glad to have him. Welcome to the family Devonte.

Seen Cujo 4 times live and your report jibes pretty closely with what I've seen as well. I've seen him play some pretty good D on ball with his length and lateral quickness. But he consistently loses awareness off ball. Not being coached up much either. Live in St Louis and have seen Tatum a lot. The definition of what a 9 figure NBA player looks like as a 17 year old. Terrific player and also has a rep as a really good kid. Curious, how did the Turkish kid for HP play? Thought he was pretty good when I saw him. Reminded me of Sheehey.

Cujo finished with 21. Took a couple of poor shots, particularly 1 in OT that was just a poor decision. Overall played well. Handle is tighter than I've seen it before. Was very good defensively on the ball. Did not get beat off the dribble a single time. Lost spatial awareness twice off ball that got him beat backdoor. Fearless and explosive going to the rim, but does not pas off penetration. Can really shoot off the catch. Needs to play off the ball. Like him a lot as a really talented 4 year kid. Btw: Josh Jackson is incredible. Everything Andrew Wiggins was supposed to be coming out of HS this kid actually is.

Bridges and Jackson are basically having a dunk off. Strictly playground, but man is it fun to watch.Cujo has 15 through 3. Has played well. Jackson is incredible. Not sure I've seen a better athlete in High School. Ever.

Jim Thomas. Perfect comparison. Nicely done.

Haven't seen enough of the kid to judge him. I'll look forward to reading a report from someone who has. Strategically I like it from class balance and roster building standpoints. Assuming JBJ leaves I would have preferred 2 frosh guards and a grad transfer to 3 frosh guards in the same class. Newkirk fills the transfer role. Now go get Brown and Jones closed.

Unless OG has undergone a major growth spurt, awesome if true, I think that picture might be a little misleading. When I saw them at the end of January Juwan was clearly taller. Juwan is also much thicker. The part of OG you can't see in the picture looks a lot like Troy when he first got here. Juwan is thick all over.

Really want to see Huntington play Oak Hill. Daniel Giddens isn't the most skilled guy, but he's a big strong grown man. Very physical and aggressive. Watched him beat Skal Labissiere about half to death physically in a game. Watching TB and him go at it for 32 minutes would be a blast. Give'em both a good taste of B1G physicality.   

Yeah, no inside knowledge, but I live in St Louis and can't imagine any reason he would go to Mizzou. Program is a complete abortion. Lousy facilities. Don't draw at all. Had 5k for the Florida game. Might have had the worst guard play in the country. Players quit on Kim Anderson last year. Lead asst has already left. And they're oversigned by 1. I think we're good here.
