Not to get too far off topic. I do agree with him that the marketing could use a revamp. However, the building itself is not disappointing like he alluded to. The big game atmospheres are not disappointing . The problem is this program has been to 4 NCAA tournaments in the last 11 years. It starts and ends with that. I was a student when Crean had it rolling and the student tickets were distributed the same. The games were fine, all of them. They were awesome actually. Win and everyone will show up. Really excited about this kid. Don't expect him to be an instant impact guy, but my hope is he becomes everything we thought Justin Smith would be. Seems to have a much higher ceiling offensively as he already has a smooth stroke and hits shots with consistency. Would be nice to have him and Jerome Hunter on the floor together, so much versatility on the offensive end with loads of defensive potential. Add in a more athletic 5 than Joey and De'ron and you have the makings of a solid packline defense.

I think it is definitely true the teams are all just okay. Problem is that is the case for all of college basketball. I mean the BIG did win both the Gavitt Games and the ACC-BIG Challenge. Plus had multiple holiday tournament winners including Michigan and Maryland. I don't see a team that would get to a final four on a normal year, but this isn't a normal year and I think multiple teams from the BIG could luck themselves into the final four because of the lack of top end power in college basketball.

You spend your entire being on this board so I know you have read it. Where in the world is the optimism being beat into people? There is a whole thread where posters go to do nothing but be negative..... Also, not sure you know what mob mentality means.

This. The core of this team will be back next year barring the unforeseen. And there is a strong possibility they will be back for the next two years. Add in Thompson and you have a really good six man rotation that will have played multiple years together. This year was always a bridge year and all predictions were that this team would be a bubble team. Well guess what? that is where they are because that is in accordance with the talent on the roster. Next year and the year after are where Indiana really makes its jump. If that doesn't happen, then yes something serious went wrong and Archie will have questions to answer. Call me a slow learner. Call me stupid, I don't care. I don't have the mob mentality.

Really need a split this week. Hope to see some fight on the road in both games and be in each of them until the end with a chance to win. However, the BIG didn't do IU any favors with this schedule as IU is in the midst of a 4 game in 9 day stretch. Each of those 4 opponents has essentially had a week off to prepare for IU. Oh well, no excuses. Get it done boys. GO HOOSIERS.

Hoping we start to see some teams in the BIG start to unwind from team issues, losses, etc. kinda like IU and Nebraska did last year and Minnesota the year before. Just hope it isn't us this year again.

I really wish we had Brunk all four years. He would have been that player that all the other BIG teams hated and complained that he was here for 10 years. But yes, I'll take two years of Joey freaking Brunk.

SIAP. Jumped to #42 in the NET. Metrics don't like this team at the moment despite 15-4. I guess if we had Carsen Edwards last year we might be top 10.
