(2021) PF Caleb Furst to Purdue
IUc2016 replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Good get for them. Was never confident IU had a chance with him and figured he would go to Purdue or MSU. But since he chose Purdue it is good news for IU and Kaufman I assume. I know Louisville is still on him but a lot thought he was high on Purdue. Not anymore. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Men's Big Ten Tourney Thread: Predictions and Discussion
IUc2016 replied to IUc2016's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yeah this team is surrounded by teams in the standings that it lost to. Purdue, Rutgers, and Michigan. Did not do itself any favors there for tiebreaker purposes. Would be crazy to be .500 in conference and playing on the first day of the BIG tournament. Last year the 8-9 matchup was between two teams who were 8-12. The 10th and 11th place teams were 7-13. -

ah missed that year when I went back through it. But yes, Davis is the only coach who has had anything go well in that tournament. -
Men's Big Ten Tourney Thread: Predictions and Discussion
IUc2016 replied to IUc2016's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
nope. Only won 1 game that year and lost to Iowa in semis. Last time Indiana won more than 1 game was 2001 when they lost in the Championship. AND that is the only time Indiana has won more than 1 game. They have never won more than 2. lol so terrible I know -

Men's Big Ten Tourney Thread: Predictions and Discussion
IUc2016 replied to IUc2016's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yeah i just want to see a win as well. The last time Indiana won a game was in 2017, Crean's last year when we drilled Iowa in the first round and then lost to Wisconsin. The last time Indiana made it to the weekend was in 2013, where Crean's team also lost to wisconsin. -
Men's Big Ten Tourney Thread: Predictions and Discussion

Yeah my fault about the confusion. I will change the title and if mods want to move the other posts a women's thread that would be great. The women's tourney deserves its own thread. -
I thought I would get this started a little early and post the Tournament Predictor website to this thread. It is a tradition for me to mess around with it all the way up until the final weekend of the season. I posted it earlier but it was in the college basketball thread and is buried. As of right now IU is fighting to stay out of the first four Wednesday group. If they end up 9-11 or worse they will end up playing on Wednesday because of their weak tiebreakers against rutgers, Purdue, and Michigan. There is a small chance at 9-11 that they could still miss the Wednesday games. If they end up 10-10 they most likely end up in the 8-9 game against michigan. There is a chance they take the 10 seed as well depending on what else happens around them. Here is the link: http://bball.notnothing.net/big10.php?sport=mbb Obviously the BIG tourney is a reoccurring nightmare for Indiana fans. But for some reason I still get excited about it every year, especially when it is in Indy like this year. Here is to hoping that this is Indiana's year to make a run and win a couple games. It has to happen sometime right? My Predicted winner: Michigan State (ugh)

2021 General Recruiting Thread
IUc2016 replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I have heard on other boards that an offer is coming soon. Hopefully this tracks like the recent recruitments of Leal, Galloway, and Armaan Franklin. The staff kept tabs on the player but didn't make an offer and really start recruiting them until after their junior year. It worked out in all three cases despite their recruitment from other schools -

no worries. I appreciate all that you bring to this board OF! love getting your updates on Indiana high school players since I live out of state and don't have a chance to follow along quite as closely. -

The only take I have is keep coaching Archie. If that is “not ideal” this program has much bigger problems. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

(2021) PG Khristian Lander to Western Kentucky U.
IUc2016 replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
yeah 247 is higher on Lander than Rivals (9 vs 17). Will be interesting if he decides to reclass -

https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/master-class-top-100-high-school-players-nos-41-60 SIAP but Rivals put together a master class. They took all the players from the '20, '21, '22 classes and ranked them 1-100. Lander is number 60 on the list. Would kinda be an indication where he would fall if he reclassified to 2020. He is right behind Adam Miller (#30 of 2020) who is committed to Illinois. -
https://bracketville.wordpress.com/bracketology/ IU is a 9 playing Florida in this updated bracket. Baylor is the 1 seed in this region with the first weekend played in Houston.

Race and Jerome have shown improvements within this season, no reason to think they won't get better in the summer without injuries. TJD is dominant at times as a freshman, you can't possible think he won't improve next year as a sophomore with his potential? I think it is more than reasonable to think a team that returns all but one inconsistent guard and a backup post player will get better. HAVEN'T even had to mention the Lander possibility yet.
-
The record has gotten better every year Archie has been here. Everyone comes back next year, no reason to think that won't change. ESPECIALLY with a sophomore TJD.
-
yes every single one of them. DWS You don't think IU will be better next year than this year? Barring the unforeseen.
-
You have to remember that isn't always the case. Some teams ahead of Indiana don't age and don't get better because they lose most of their players....

IUc2016 replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Guys it’s pretty cool that we get to argue WHEN a 5* PG should arrive on campus rather than IF he actually will. Good times. Much better than that depression thread or whatever it is lol Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
TJD has to be assertive and IU has to play good three point defense. TJD cannot have a game like he did against Michigan and most of the road games this year. If he is assertive and productive, and Purdue doesn't go bonkers from three like they have twice this year at Mackey this will be a game. Show up and play with effort, best chance we have had in awhile to get a W in mackey. POTFB

I would be a bit surprised to see Smith leave. I would be absolutely shocked to see Al Durham leave. He seems to like being a Hoosier and has improved each year he has been here. He will be a returning captain on a team that will most likely be in contention for a big ten championship. I don't see him giving that up.
