I was a strong voice against Brunk at the beginning of the year and felt he should have a 10-15 minute backup role. he did have a few games where he showed that I may be wrong but lately it's mostly what I thought. He just cannot play defense and for some reason this team uses him as the focal point of the offense. They are correct that once he touches the ball he is going to shoot it, its frustrating how much he gets the ball vs TJD. Why he continues to start along with Smith is basically malpractice. You have two players that are offensive black holes playing a majority of your minutes.

It definitely is. He has an obligation to mitigate damages. Gainful employment is even defined in the contract. Meaning there are certain types of jobs he can take that will fulfill his mitigation obligations.

John Beilein never coached at George Mason. He was at Richmond, West Virginia, and then Michigan. Jim larranaga was at George Mason. He has been decent at Miami, but nothing spectacular. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

It has been said that Rob will need surgery after this year and so I give him somewhat of a pass. He is still shooting really well from 3 but he has no ability to break a defender down and get to the rim. I think next year and his senior year he will be fine and a good point guard in the Big Ten. However, since Rob isn't dynamic and won't put up 15/game it puts more pressure on the other guard to be a scorer. And that just isn't possible right now. Al durham will never be that. Next year and the year after depends on this team finding a consistent scorer at the off guard spot. Maybe it will be Franklin. Hopefully.

Starting guards cannot combine for 12 points/game. The Rutgers and Penn State games this year was some of the worst guard play I have ever seen.

I was so dumbfounded last year when he tried to put his shoe on underneath the goal during the middle of a defensive possession against Michigan Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Justin Smith has nowhere near the highest BB IQ on this team. -

It is frustrating to see those schools succeed earlier. But you can’t look at this in a vacuum. Neither of the previous coaches at Butler or Louisville were fired because they weren’t getting the job done. Holtmann had them rolling and left to Ohio state. Pitino had been to multiple final fours and won a national championship. IU on the other hand was years removed from a complete rebuild and missed the tournament 5 of the previous 9 years. And crean was fired because the program was not in a good spot. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I have taken a lot of crap for saying that year three is key and I would wait until the end of it because it is usually when a great coach turns things around. Well almost to the end of year three and still a lot of questions. Really hate that it’s turning out this way, I like Archie and the potential of him being the guy for 20+ years. He isn’t weird. He isn’t dirty. He is pretty much about his business. He is really likeable and so are the kids he brings in. Just can’t get it done on the court and at some point that trumps all else. I noticed that too. Could really mean he has already been informed of someone’s intent to leave the program and just kinda let it slip. Or he honestly doesn’t know how many scholarships we have available.... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
This is really the only way I see it happening is if Fred sees it this way. Problem is he will be the one hiring the next coach and I don’t believe he will want that either. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

First let me say this, I do not want Steve Alford. I just have a feeling that is where this goes. Second, you cannot count LSU as a success in this instance. My argument was that Orgeron sucked BEFORE he got to LSU (just as Alford has). The fact that he has been very successful at LSU furthers my point that maybe Alford will do that at IU. so yes, thank you.
