If this team play hard every game like it did the last 10 minutes of last night they will make the tournament. If they continue to turn it on or off for stretches of games like they have all year, no chance they make the tournament. Oh I know people will do what they want. But I still wanted to draw light on the fact that IU didn’t play 7 gimmes. And one of those 7 (Louisiana Tech) will actually be a GOOD win when it is all said in done. As it stands right now only 3 teams on IU’s schedule are outside the top 200 in the NET. Oh i gotcha. Yeah I don't know that i agree he shouldn't have recruited them, just that at this point I think he believed they would be role players off the bench and not heavy minute starters. But the roster at this point doesn't allow for that, which is part injuries part recruiting misses IMO.

This coach wanted them to be A PART of this team. Not the foundation. Injuries to Jerome Hunter, rob, and Race haven’t helped. Plus recruiting misses like Carton, Garland, and many others tend to support the fact he was not of the mindset that in year three al and Justin should be starting and playing 30 minutes a game. Yeah I don’t think they are crean’s players. I do think they are players Archie would not have gone out and recruited in normal circumstances. All in all they are his responsibility now and it is year three and they have had plenty of time in his system. But also it is important to remember that the 2017 recruiting class is a major reason Tom Crean was seen as a lame duck and many said he could no longer recruit because he had a class of Al Durham, Justin Smith, and Clifton Moore. Fans were up in arms about how terrible of a class it was and how Crean missed terribly on that the class. Myself included. So it kinda fits whatever narrative you want. They were seen as a failure of a class when crean recruited them. But now the narrative is that Archie has them they are his kids and they haven’t developed and it’s all his fault. Well three years ago people weren’t expecting jack from this class... now it’s the foundation of the team and people can’t figure out why they aren’t great players and this isn’t a great team. Everyone is holding on to last years turnaround that happened for Purdue around this time. Kinda like everyone is holding on to last years losing streak for IU as evidence that this years team is doomed. Guess we will see if either of those beliefs hold true here soon. Correct. I remember listening to podcast on the brink and they had Gary Parrish from CBS on. They asked him if in 5 years IU fired Archie what would be the reason. I predicted this team would go 19-12 on the year. At this point IU is 11-3. I am holding true to my prediction of 19-12. That puts them at 9-11 in conference. Should be in the tournament which is what my expectations for THIS year were and still are. 19-12 is not the expectation of this program going forward. But for me, if Archie can get this team to 19 wins I believe it is a fine coaching job. Next year my expectations will increase and again I will expect Archie to meet them. But for now, I still think this team should get to 19 wins. If not I don’t see how Archie has success going forward. #pumpinsunshine Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
