Saw this tweeted out earlier. Greg McDermott’s D-1 record w/out his son playing for him? 207-175. In-Conference record? 90-118. 4 tourneys in 12 years. 0-4 record. Kind of a yawner really unless he has another kid.

If that is what OSU can get then they are not a top 15 job. They are in bad shape currently but have the resources and location to do better than McD.

OSU is a bit of a mess right now. Long term it can be an attractive job but short term they don't seem to have a lot of pieces in place to win quickly.

If you have heard his dad talk you would be hard pressed to think UK or Louisville have any chance. He is quick to shut down questions of 1 and done and seems to want to make sure Romeo has a level head. With the UK approach and the culture mess at Louisville (from the staff down) I just don't see how those fit other than geography.

If he is willing to go overseas an agent may help a great deal making connections for him and helping him identify places to consider

He was likely a class or two short but when that close they let you go through the ceremony. I had 3 credits when I walked yet to take and did the same thing.

I think it is too early to tell. Certainly some things point that way but some suggest otherwise. He may lean one way and decide another so I think we just won't know until he decides

Legend is way to big a word for him for me but I grew up on the tail end of the undefeated team and was in school for the 87 championship and 92 FF teams. Guys that led their team to great heights and had a lot of success every year fall into the legend category for me.

I would love to know whether or not the players see much of a difference between Crean and Arch yet. Crean was really good at things like this and small sided drills seemed to be his thing. But still I wonder if having a guy who played pushing them now is already something they are benefitting from

Newkirk made more plays for himself than for others. He had more playing time but he really seemed to have nice spark for us down the stretch (when RoJo was providing very little). I think Newkirk making plays is often forgotten because he was not doing this for others or consistently during the year. Green made some plays for others that no one else did and it will be good if that increases as he gets more time.

I have not followed this much but have heard similar thoughts. My question for whether Wilson got screwed is this, what reason would FG have for doing this? Wilson had gotten us to two bowls, some fun play to watch and a reasonable looking future. Why make a coaching change if you are Indiana? Did FG think Allen was going to leave and was better than Wilson? Maybe but why risk what you of from Wilson for what might be in Allen? I have assumed that if the reasons for dismissing Wilson were minor he must have given FG other reasons to move on this. Attitude, hard to work with, substance- who knows but when the math does not add up there are usually unknown variables in play. If so, then some of that falls on Wilson as well. As patient as FG was with Crean, his quick trigger with Wilson was odd and probably was based on some unusual circumstances

Didn't Archie also say that TB was really looking into the leaving stuff and that RoJo and Blackman would after some finals. He said something along those lines and got me wondering why TB did not seem to have those limitations

What is the appeal of quarters? I am not necc against it but don't get the reason to go that way.

Not too familiar with Marshall. What is it about him that is better than our previous guys.

Last season Johnson looked like he did not fit. Who knows, after 3 years he may not have had any respect or interest in playing for Crean. Maybe with a new coach he finds renewed interest and becomes a big contributor. We did fire a coach after all.

Yeah I remember that delay as well and wondered about it but if he is still a UCLA employee wouldn't he be restricted anyway.

Wonder how many other Indiana coaches feel this way? Schilling, if brought in, would presumably be the guy to help us do better in the state.
