This hire made no sense if you want to compete. A friends daughter plays at Ball State and they were not at all sad to see him go. I like the assistants as they built a strong program at IWU and have good instate connections but I was hoping for someone who has had a track record of success. Even if at a lower level.

Rourke was incredibly accurate and “made the layups” consistently. Hopefully Mendoza settles in better. Several of his throws could have been picks. The offensive line needs to start winning at the goal line. Hoping for a convincing second half.

I know some coaches can retool their new team quickly and compete at a high level in year 1. Dusty last year is everyone’s favorite example and that was legit. I don’t think we will be as successful in year 1 compared to Dusty but I think DD can deliver very good teams on a consistent basis. I liked Snow’s comment recently where he referred to IU as a beast when competing against them for a recruit. Even with Woody as coach Snow felt IU was very hard to beat for Indiana kids. I don’t think we need all Indiana kids to win but I think pairing DD with the Indiana strength will yield top 15 teams pretty consistently. I don’t know if he can get us to a championship but I do feel he can get us to Wisconsin level success. Maybe not this year but over the next decade. Will that be good enough Is the question.

Crean was not fired because he only got NBA guys and no in state recruits. Hopefully you set him straight

Good points. Not speaking for anyone else, but it is hard not to be skeptical of continued success at IU. Hep. Wilson seemed to be making inroads then he imploded. Allen got us up to #8 during the covid year and I remember analysts saying things like everyone loves playing for Coach Allen and LEO. Then we stopped winning. I love your comment about this staff having a history of winning. Even if you just take his last year at JMU and IU, he had both programs ranked top 25. But that old doubter creeps back in to remind me we did end up with a favorable schedule last year and maybe the staff just got lucky with the kids he brought over from JMU. Winning this year, against a tougher schedule, will certainly help bring me to Lebowski level confidence. Especially if we can top 9 wins with some of those against top 20 opponents.

Not sure RMK was normal but I get wat you mean. Kept hearing he had kind of an Archie personality but he seems far more personable and as you say, normal.

Rewatched the UCLA game tonight and got to wondering if we might be overlooking how good Rourke was last year. Sure he wasn’t too mobile but he was incredibly accurate with a variety of throws with touch. He made it look so easy

I think it is too early to say we have concerns but also too early to say we finally have a professional college basketball staff. This staff does not really differ from Crean’s or Miller’s. I am hopeful that we will finally have a staff that builds a more consistent and higher end winner but I had hope with all the others too.

Yeah but the G-league elite camp and the NBA draft combine will be more than playing HORSE. If he continues to shine in those that will get a lot of peoples attention.

I chatted with an agent and once we cancelled the current and they issued a refund for the May payment then I was able to sign up.

Looks like I am on the monthly subscription now but cannot find a way to switch. I chose cancel plan and when the screen refreshes I briefly see a screen with a box to enter discount code but it goes away and i get a message saying which plan i have through next month. Anyone have success switching to the new annual plan from a monthly?

Has an overseas trip been confirmed yet? If so, where and when? A preseason trip could be a great way to get a completely new team and new coach time to gel.
