We moved away from Indiana 3 years ago and in that time lost both my parents (83) and now perhaps another. That adds another level of complexity. I wish i could hear her Dad say "hey bubba" one more time before we meet on the other side.

Would appreciate prayers for my father-in-law. 93 years old and up to 2018 he would work about 5 hours a day out in his garden. Dementia started to set in and we moved them in with us for a few years then into a home. Got the call today that he is taking a turn towards what looks like the end. Great guy. Not often you get great in-laws but I got lucky. He and my wife would often go to IU games together (she grew up in Btown) and it was her true knowledge of the game that made me know she was the one. Wife flying up to Indy now and will hopefully get there in time. Would appreciate your prayers for a peaceful passing. The man left a legacy.

So if this is indeed contracted, I feel very good. This does not mean it is BS or another big fish but it suggests Dolson got one of his top candidates. I may have hoped for a different candidate (May was my #1) but if we did not get my guy I wanted Dolson to research the field, pursue his targets and get one of them. If he has that man, I feel good.

Right but if you already know what is best for your kid you dont ask that question. I did have a conversation like this with my daughter though. She was going into her senior year and I had a Dad rule (that only my wife and I knew) that I would give them veto power during a move while in HS. The veto though was not voted on by them but buy us and how we thought the move could impact them. Had a few moves in between their HS years and avoided making one during the HS years until 2022. My daughter played soccer and had some "mean girl" issues with a few of the teams and had finally gotten back in with a strong team that was not mean/catty. She braved the 2 years prior like a champ but seeing her flourish again with a healthy team caused me to decide for her. I took the job, worked some remotely and travelled a bunch her senior year and learned to snap to stay in contact. It worked well enough because it was only 1 year. BS daughter may be in a completely different spot.

I think she will be a Junior. Parenting is also considering what is best for the family. It is not like BS needs any money.

He had a good resume with a good run but his lack of personality should have been a clue. But coming off Crean who could charm anyone we went too far the other direction and assumed Archie's lack of personality meant he was soley focused on basketball. I got to meet Archie and before meeting him the guy from IU basically described him as this quiet but great basketball nerd. Thing I like about McC is he has established a way to win. Similiar to Cig, he knows how to run things, how to prepare, how to outcoach. Now he needs to show he can also recruit at a higher level the coach the higher level. Definately a risk, but if not getting a big fish might as well try for the next big fish vs a retread

It is a shame so many posters on this board, many regulars along with some newbies have taken to attack and demean @Chris007, @RoadToZion, @JerryYeagley23 . "oh we dont like being trolled" "dont tell us stuff that might not turn out to be true" ...If you have been paying attention Chris has said so many times that if he were to guess if it were BS it would be less than 50%. Even yesterday he was questioning how "homerun" was defined. RTZ has not changed his position yet nor has JY. The RTZ comment it is dead, then the undertaker plus Tony,Toni...post on the bunt could mean they pivoted to a different big hire. The thing is, anyone better than a risinig star as a coach would be on par with what our peers have done over the last decade. Have they suggested it is a bigger fish, sure. Is it still possible, sure. Could it be a swing and a miss, sure, but so many of you get personal with the attacks on people on here that are our community/friends.

I live down in SEC country now and it is cool to wear IU gear around and have SEC fans walk up and ask me about IU football. Was even out in Denver this fall and in a small restaurant about 1/3 of us were IU fans/alumns but were all separate groups. I saw a girl wearing the Cig shirt and as we were talking 2 other groups nearby heard us and suddenly an IU reunion broke out.

I became convinced after you mentioned him. Seemed to be one of the best candidates available and hoped due to his age we could get him while others passed.

Just curious what other top P4 programs recently hired tier 1 candidates. The trend has been to get the next shiny thing and hope they become great. You may be aware of some schools I am missing though. BM would match that model a bit better than BB. Dusty last year was a much shinier option unfortunately

Or the ones who trash the AD who is the midst of a search that has been kept extremely quiet because a writer tweets that we are picking the least likely candidate. At least with Isaac, we can kind of laugh at his outrageous timelines. With the way people panicked and trashed Dolson today I would ask which is more damaging to peace on the board? Let it play out. If like past hires, we can panic and trash the AD and program then. Or maybe just accept we have fallen to unexpected lows. OR, Dolson makes a hire we can be excited about and finally have real hope. Let it play out.

Maybe I missed it but it seemed half the questions/comments to the 2 from the committee were congratulatory on completing the bracket. I mean Seth had a good example for IU with our record vs UNC and they did not bring that up directly. Soft questions.
