Too late for that. Goal post moved to include being ranked also while being included on the list. Last years team was just outside the top 25 to start the year. 3 seasons would be the last time it happened when IU was listed twice in these type of articles. IU/Kansas, Iu/ North Carolina

Ordinarily this would worry me and I guess it does some but I feel pretty good about us and this kid. 
 Living in this neck of the woods and knowing lots of people from that area he just seems like an Indiana kid even more so than Langford and I always thought we were getting him.Well, at least after Louisville was out of the picture.

Could be worse. I went over to check GBI reaction and first thread is fkfootball trying to trade Allen and multiple players for Brohm. When they discuss IU fans after that what can you really say?
 
Edit: I did click on their football forum so I definitely take the blame for that.

Let's take off the table that I am an absolutist about following the rules that have been established - I'm already there on that front.
But SHOULD the rules be changed?
Let me give you a real-life scenario and tell me what you think:
My oldest son is a high school senior, and is a classical vocalist. He will be going to college as a music performance major, and is being 'recruited' by many top schools. The school he attends will (very likely) be offering him a substantial scholarship completely based on his merit as a musician. 
The school he attends will have performances attended by hundreds (or more) at a time, and the school will profit from those performances through ticket revenue and advertising sales. He will perform for his university without compensation.
HOWEVER, my son will have opportunities to be paid for performances anytime he is not in a university production, (he already has in high school), and that will in no way affect his scholarship or college eligibility. Seems okay to me in a different scenario, so why shouldn't Trayce Jackson Davis be paid for revenue opportunities that are not directly incorporated into playing for IUBB? 
 
 
 

But then again there’s a cool story about how when he told coach Allen he wanted to commit, he brought up the amount of years it’s been since a bowl, since a winning season, and winning a bowl...etc....he supposedly listed all those numbers and said coach I’m coming here to change those. 

It’s this Saturday! Is anyone going? After a 2 year absence, I am so excited to be going!

Fun fact. Stewart had over 100 yards against other dbs and leads big ten in yards. Can we just start him already. I’ll be happy to give him a few mistakes here and there but at least he plays hard. Our touted DBs mainly upperclassmen have let us down. Let the kid ball. It’s in his veins with his brothers and cousin Lamar Jackson. Kid might be small....too bad he didn’t get his brothers size.

Alante is a special kind of player. Reminds me of whop. Heard his name a couple of weeks back....then saw we offered when it was retweeted in my thread. From his film you see great athleticism and a good motor. Great speed and change of direction. Will play everywhere on the offensive side of the ball and return game. Is in prep school. Was a Texas tech commit, didn’t end up qualifying because of a grade or testing of some sort. He should be fine due to prep school and he’s at one of the top prep schools. Look for the Hoosiers to be towards the top of his list when he gets close to giving his verbal. He’s from Chicago so that should help.

Calm down with all the $$ talk people. It’s IU and Marquette in the lead right now. There are some recruitments that just scream being dirty and this isn’t one of them.

For football who are the next up and comers? I'd hire the hungriest of the bunch. 

Sure why not. First person I’d contact would be Urban Meyer. Offer him 6-7 million for 5 years. If he says no, create a bs position like “Football Program Advisor” or something stupid and offer him 1-2 million to oversee the direction and help hire a coach.

Now realistically, I’d have a sit down and see what kind of identity Allen wants. Defense? Offense? Good at both? Great at one or the other? Smash mouth? High scoring? Slow or fast? If he can’t give me a good enough answer for a direction and identity of the program, then he’d be fired. Then I’d look at a short list and see if there’s any interest. And I would start at what would be considered top dogs. Steve Sarkisian(Bama OC), Pete Golding(Bama DC), Thomas Brent Venables(Clemson DC), Jeff Scott(Clemson OC), Bill Bedenbaugh(Oklahoma OC), Alex Grinch(Oklahoma DC). Then look at some used to be names like Lane Kiffin, Charlie Strong or even Chip Kelly and get some buzz with a bigger name. Then you work your way down. But you have to start with people who have been around great success because they have seen what it takes.

Rick mount came to basketball camp when I was a kid at taylor university. I didn't care what he had to say cause he went to purdue lol. I should have listened to every word he said lol.
