I'm not well-versed in how odds are calculated, but when I saw the Pacers' chances of keeping the pick were only 52%, I knew it was gone. That's basically a coin flip.

This, and minor league baseball.

Somebody I think ran the math and basically the results of the draft being not rigged are incredibly unlikely. I haven’t seen the data but it was something mind blowingly impossible

Yea the alleged chilled envelope was the first draft conspiracy theory I can think of. There is a chance it was true…

It was 6-2 PU after 5 innings. We scored 5 in our 6th but the PUkesters scored 2 of their own and added 3 in their 7th. We picked up 1 run in the 8th but return to Bloomington winless in West Laffy. Final score 11-8. For the weekend, PUke scored 27 runs against us. Today, PUke had 16 hits off 5 Hoosier pitchers - 9 of them were for extra bases. One more weekend to suffer through.

The NBA lottery is the 1 thing in sports I’m completely confident is rigged. Not every year, but whenever the League office sees value in a specific outcome. I’m been telling people for months that since the Zubac trade made it top 4 protected the Pacers’ pick would land 5th, if it was top 3 they would have landed 4th, because Silver wanted to make it as publicly clear as he could while maintaining deniability that if he considered what you were doing tanking you weren’t gonna get paid off. Whenever he’s asked about it, and he’s too smart to do it though I’d give anything if he did, I’d love to hear Pritchard reply, “Yeah, 5th. That’s as subtle as a kick in the teeth, huh.”
-
Yep. Then Duncan. Why we couldn’t get the same treatment idk?
-
Agreed. Was it the Ewing draft that started the BS?
-
They don’t show the ping pong balls live for a reason. Fixed!

There is no league or sports organization that’s a bigger crock of **** than the NBA. About as real as wrestling
-
Totally predictable. Knew it was going to be #5 once they reached the top 10.
-
What a joke.
-
They got #5 and it goes to the Clippers. They missed it by just one.

Yeah, not so much, but 2 things, and this is spinning as positively as I can manage: 1) It was a physical game and though he was pretty clearly the youngest kid on the floor he held up ok. 2) He was 0-3 from the floor but 2 of the misses were jump hooks over each shoulder that looked really good and just didn’t go in. So he has at least some present post game.
-
At least today, we won't lose by blowing a lead. PUke scored 3 in the 1st inning.

So apparently, according to this website (not sure how accurate it is. Dorns value was 630k vs Harris’ value was 150k https://engine.getthebreakdown.com/?twclid=2e1nvulsfqc7l5q8jth98dmvdo#evaluate?player=Nick Dorn&conf=ACC -

Not unhappy with this at all. Compare him to most 18 year old 7 footers and he looks like a good developmental guy that can fill some small gaps early. Agree with the number 4 comment, but at least this guy doesn’t look like a baby giraffe out there. Actually moves pretty good for someone still growing into their body. They’re not all going to be Cooper Flagg.

I'm fully expecting the Pacers' pick to land outside the top 4 and go to the Clippers. That's how this stuff usually works for this organization. Plus, the league is pissed that they're even in this position a year after playing in the finals. All the new rules about tanking starting next year were made with the Pacers in mind.
-
Part of the rigging of the Pacers Thunder finals better have been we get the first pick. Absolutely despise everything about the NBA.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/48724788/steve-kerr-agrees-2-year-deal-remain-warriors There is speculation that the Warriors are set up to get the #1 pick with the 11th best odds to get it. I believe he signed for 2 years to go out with Curry which would be fitting for them both. If the Pacers get the 1-4 slots, they keep it. If it is slots 5 thru 9. it goes to the Clippers because of the Zubac from February. There is a lot of intrigue on the lotter results which they say are not rigged. There are several Sokolov games on sporteurope.tv. Watched 1 this morning. Probably a poor choice of games. Didn’t play a lot and his team got boat raced pretty good. Don’t think I’d like playing in that gym much. There was a probably 10’ LED video screen under 1 basket that kept running commercials nonstop even while the ball was in play. Literally in the eyeline of guys shooting free throws. And the scorer’s tables had the exact same thing scrolling across the front. Would not love that.
