I love it for us but it’s absolute BS that they do that to west coast teams (and is BS when east goes to west coast and play night games that end at 1:30 am EST).
-
I bought a grass lot parking spot. Are we “screwed” if we don’t get to the lot until 11:00 vs when the lot opens? Do they sometimes say “sorry we are now full” and send people to a less “lively” lot ?
-
Would still like an idea of when the grass lots completely fill up and if latecomers (11:00 am) with passes are sent to other spots/lots. .We are in the Forrest grass lot.

Indiana University and Football Coach Curt Cignetti Agree to New Eight-Year Contract Through 2033

I realize it’s “just how it’s done” but I find the buyouts interesting/one sided in that when coaches get fired they receive all the money they were contractually guaranteed (for doing a bad job) but if they leave for a competitor they only have to cough up 2-20% of the value of the contract. Pretty good deal/situation. -

$3,000,000 WOW Even if we offer 2mm how do you land the hometown kid while coming up a million short? Could we, do we want to, pay 3mm? If that $$$ is correct I doubt we land him. Just crazy for a HS senior but….. “ it is what it is”. -

Yep, I don’t think we would lose them because of cash but rather a desire to be a HC. -

Be nice to keep Haines and “Shanny” but Cig himself took a roughly 60% paycut to become a D2 head coach. He was really driven to be a HC. That being said…from a career standpoint who really knows what motivates both of our coordinators? Everyone assumes, and are probably correct, that they want to become head coaches but who knows? -

I think he will retire in Bloomington but would have liked that buyout to be 30,000,000+ as 15mm is peanuts for too many schools. -

The last 1.5 years have been virtually a football miracle. The last data point is taking seven 4 star players to Oregon and beating their fifty eight !! 4/5 star guys. I’ve never seen anything like this in college football. EDIT: and not to mention that Smart and Day also have 50+ 4/5 stars, and a slew of NFL guys, to help them win. Cigs accomplishment is in a different league. -

Yea, I would guess there is a “market rate” clause but….it would be funny if allowed. -

I’m looking for my post, from 5-6 years ago, predicting IU would eventually pay the football coach 2 1/2 -3 times what our basketball coach makes but I can’t seem to find it :) -

One difference between Allen and Franklin is that Allen’s parting deal was a one time payout that did not include a “claw back” if he gets another job. Franklin is being paid over time and PSU owes him 49m less what he makes at another school. If Franklin signs a 5 year 25m deal, as an example, PSU will be off the hook for 25 million. Would be kind of funny if Franklin took 100k a year just to F with PSU. -

GREAT NEWS!!! Now we only have to worry about the assistants…:) -
Forecast keeps getting better. Now predicting no chance of rain until after 5:00 with only 20% at 6:00. Would still like an idea of when the grass lots completely fill up and if latecomers (11:00 am) are sent to other spots.

I’ve scoured the athletic departments game info and haven’t found out when the lots open. The alumni associations site states that the lots usually open at least 5 hours before the game but not sure what that exactly means for Saturday.

2025 IUFB Prediction League - Game 7 vs Michigan St 10/18/25 3:30pm Peacock

IU - 55 MSU - 3 I would like to make an official apology to Cig and the team for picking Oregon last week. I was leaning towards IU until reading about Oregons “incredible” size and speed but the only incredible thing was how often the Oregon dudes were on their azzes. Again, on my knees begging for forgiveness. -
Kirk isn’t the only one. I’m sick of the continuing narrative that we didn’t belong last year. Hello, it’s a 12 team playoff and only 3 of the teams looked as though they legitimately were going to win it. We belonged and to your point Tennessee got killed 42-17 (21-0 in the first quarter) by OSU and I never hear anyone say they didn’t belong. Not to mention that we lost by 10 AT Notre Dame while Georgia lost to ND by 13 at a neutral site! The positive is that I think the team feeds off the negative comments.

Around Black Friday last year I hopped on the Peacock deal of $19.99 for an entire year. I did it for a few basketball games but felt even better when some football was thrown in and my wife actually likes some of their shows. Like everyone else I’m getting tired of 50 different steaming options but $19 for a year has been a good deal.

He visited OSU last weekend. In this recruiting class OSU already has a 5 star safety committed plus another safety that is the 6th ranked safety in the country! At some point you would think that Cig’s (and the staff) ability to turn zero star guys into players would have more appeal to a recruit than battling multiple highly ranked guys for playing time.
-
I realize this a an obvious statement but it is extremely important that we are competitive (or win) at Oregon. We are currently in great shape for the CFP, being ranked 7th, but of the 8 teams behind us 5 of them are SEC teams in addition to Michigan. I’m guessing a number of pollsters would love to see us fall flat on our face in Oregon and in addition a potential win at PSU will be met, by some (especially SEC fans) with a shrug. Can’t wait for Saturday. PS. Let’s hope Illinois and Iowa go on win streaks so we have quality wins to point to.

We are building a brand. Regardless if we are ranked correctly, too low or too high this week……..I do think that if we had the exact same results 3 or 4 years ago there is no way we would have been ranked above 1 loss Alabama, LSU and Georgia, as we are now. We most likely would have been an undefeated team ranked in the 14-18 range around where Missouri is this year. We are making some “brand progress” but really would be helpful to be competitive (or win) at Oregon.

PU is not all that good but they have greatly improved this year. As we know…shows what a good coach can do. I’ve changed my pre-season thought that at PU would basically be a scrimmage. They will put up a fight.
