For all of our (me included) worry/angst/SEC favoritism/complaining/perceived lack of respect/SEC media/etc etc etc the committee has actually treated IU quite well last year and so far this year.
-
Yep, It will change after the conference championships as 1 and 2 will be the BT and SEC champs. IU should be 1 if they beat OSU and probably 3 or 4 if we lose but in a close game. If we get smoked by OSU we might lose our bye but will still at least host a game as a 5,6 seed. Raise your hand if you thought we would have these discussions two years ago. Crazy times!!!

I’d take that bracket every day as I would love to see us play the Ole Miss/Texas winner. A game against the SEC would be great.

Yes, intact means having Evans back and also having a healthy (ie not hobbling) Benson.
-
For me it depends on the health of our OL. If the OL is not intact Fernando will be under pressure all day while our running game will be neutralized.

I didn’t mean to infer the winning team would also get the Heisman but rather that the BT. Championship game is a contest played in front of a ton of eyeballs showcasing how each of the two QB played against the competition provided by the #1 and #2 teams. A great performance in such a high profile game could/will influence at least a few voters. Fernando could help his case by playing great in a close loss and the same goes for Sayin (and both will have to overcome the SEC auto-votes for Simpson).

In that case the OSU-IU game could very well be for both the conference championship and the Heisman.

Is the voting before or after the conference championships?

We are definitely not elite enough to absorb many LOS injuries. Evan’s being out and a hobbled Benson are very impactful injuries.(we seemed to have admirably covered for Wyatt but he is still missed). We will see how the OL stands up vs OSU as the Iowa and PSU games reinforced that the OSU D coordinator should focus on pressure, pressure, pressure the QB.

Anyone with a more discerning OL eye than mine care to comment how Ajani did vs how the OSU dude, that got pulled, was doing? On a side note I know we needed OL bodies but it’s kind of interesting that the OSU guy was an unusual addition for Cig in that he didn’t fit the “production is what matters” mold/playbook.

Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!
DChoosier replied to mamasa's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I read a few of their comments. A couple posters couldn’t believe Cig mentioned being short handed as they thought we were only missing one player (Sarratt). Can’t blame them as the announcers almost always just mentioned missing Sarratt but I think missing Evans, and Benson for some of the game, impacted us equally if not more. We really need for the OL to get healthy. -
I was also at the Rose Bowl game last year. It was great as was downtown Pasadena, filled with celebrating IU fans, that night. Great time! That being said, being a hour away from campus, when there is traffic, is not ideal (to say the least).

Question.. With Sarratt out I thought Williams would have 2 monster games but he was pretty quiet. Becker looked unreal. When Sarratt returns would you give Becker some of Williams 3rd receiver snaps?

Trayce Jackson-Davis - Golden State Warriors
DChoosier replied to Schreckbagger's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
TJD not getting as much run this year as Golden State brought in a more versatile (ie perimeter threat) big man. Wish him the best but, unfortunately, the continued lack of an outside shot will cost him well over $100,000,000.
