Indiana vs. Penn State - Saturday 11/12 @ Noon ET on ABC/ESPN2

Recommended Posts

Guys a lot to be proud of this game. Both our offensive and defensive lines played lights out. We had pass rush the entire game. Secondary played competitive. Penn State has the consensus best WR corps in the B1G (IU has the best IMO). It's frustrating to see those desperate heaves go for big gains, but they have the talent at WR that makes that happen.

Sure, there was a questionable play call here or there, but the offense had great rhythm. Redding ran hard. Saw some improvement from Lagow. Good game plan for putting him in high probability of success situations. Yes, accuracy was off on some throws, but he threw some beautiful deeps balls today. We saw some back shoulder throws that we haven't seen all season. I hope we build on this.

We have an absolutely INSANE amount of talent at WR. Westbrook and Patrick are studs. Hale is going to continue to improve next season as he learns the position. Timeon is silky smooth and is going to catch a lot of balls next season replacing Paige. Not to mention Cobbs and Harris will be back. We have some talented freshmen at WR that are red shirting this year that I am sure will look into changing position.

If you would have told me before the game that Mitchell Paige would have been responsible for three turnovers, I would have not believed it. Unfortunate, but Mitchell has more than pulled his weight for this program the past two years. He is going to be a big part in our wins against Purdue and in the bowl game.

This season is far from over. The goal remains the same: win a bowl game. We will be a dangerous bowl opponent.

I understand everyone's frustration, but we literally outplayed PSU.... Like mentioned above about Paige.... Didn't see that coming. Ik we gave up 45 pts.... But defense is tough and if you told me we would hold the flaming hot Saquan Barkley to 60yd rushing..... I would have laughed. We had brainfarts. We are so young. So so so young. Ik we always say this... Next year we will break through..... Blah blah blah.... But hey I'll take a win over purdue....6-6 and another bowl game..... Now next year I think is a really make or break year.... Wilson has time to fully develop Lagow or Diamont has more time to get passing down(even though he's looked pretty good so far throwing the ball) and this defense.... We really don't loose much.... Offense.... Yeah some lineman.... But we have cronk, knight, baker, and a bunch of young lineman that Frey can coach up.... I was bummed a little that we lost.... But I think a lot of us in the back of our minds didn't give us a chance come kickoff.... This team has heart and grit and Idc that we lost today. It was a great showing and onto next weekend, hopefully the Badgers are looking ahead to OSU. We could really ruin their season with a huge upset lol

So proud of the team. Best defense in 30 years. DB's actually see the ball and make plays. Unbelievably frustrated by the play calling and decision making of coaches. 1. How does a punt return team player TOUCH THE BALL AFTER IT HIT THE GROUND?  Is he stupid or did coaches not teach this CLEARLY? 2. Up 24-21 and Johns/Wilson call 3 horrible, conservative plays. Don't have Redding OR Natee in the game. WTH??? 3. 4th and goal on 1 yd line. Not a terrible play but Lagow is the slowest, most unathletic QB in the conf. He can't make a play with his legs. 4. Horrible, lack of discipline penalties. UGH. Twice set IU up with awful field position to start crucial drives.  Your job as a coach is to make sure YOU don't do anything to cause your team to lose. Just sticking a freshman RB in the game on a whim does not fit that criteria. You have 3-4 great RB's and you do that? Should have beaten Wake but stubborn Wilson leaves Lagow in the game.  Should have beaten Nebraska. Should have won today.

We'll get slaughtered next week, beat Purdue and go to a bowl game. Fred Glass should not be pleased by this. Wilson has done an awesome job recruiting, Deserves tons of credit. Game management (blowing 2 second half time outs for example) is not good and is not improving.

This one still stings the next day. Really thought we were going to win this one. Before the season this was the upset game I felt we had a really good chance to win.

Yeah sure does sting. It seems to never all come together. Offense played well enough to win if they didn't have to overcome 5 TO's

The good news......
IUFB hung with the #10 team in the nation and had them on the ropes DESPITE 5 TO's.

Per Fisch on the radio the defense had at least 15, FIFTEEN!!!!, tackles for loss.

Lagow looked better. I didn't get to watch the whole game but he didn't seem to be spraying them all over.

This team is still growing. I still have faith in them and believe that CKW and company has them moving in the right direction.

On to Michigan!

ESPN said not expected to play but other sources are saying out for the regular season.... Not sure how you play a kid with a broken collarbone especially..... If he's going to get hit a lot.

O'Korn redshirt junior from Houston is the primary back up per espn. He's 13/18 for 114 yards and two TD's and has played in half of their games this season.

Yes I saw that. Nice stats. I didn't look to see where those stats came from (game wise)... But I'm just gonna say this and people will laugh at me but IDC. I think this helps us out a lot. I have a lot of buddies that are big UM fans and they do not like O'Korn or Morris. I loved what I saw from IU against PSU run and loved the TFL and sacks. Peters their freshman they got out of Avon, IN is redshirting no matter what this year.... My family is close with his parents. However.... Jimmy Harbaugh could do something crazy..... He is a wild card. I'm just gonna say.... Hoosiers come out with some spunk.... You don't really have anything to loose.... Not expected to win...Michigan is looking ahead to OSU to keep Big ten championships hope alive..... Well all this has is the makings of an upset in Ann Arbor and I get booed out of the big house as I wear my IU gear.

I'm not laughing. This certainly doesn't hurt us. We can't get into a hole from the outset. Maybe I'm wrong but I think the offense is coming together. If they didn't have 5 turnovers, they beat PSU. IMO five to's is an anomaly, even for IU.

Granted UM isn't PSU, but I think we can hang.

Well thanks for not LOLing. Like someone said before if you told me Paige was going be be responsible for a lot of turnovers I would have said funny joke.... Yes UM is not PSU, but I'm very proud of this IU defense. I Sw on Twitter somewhere someone said IU fans should be ashamed of the defense last game.... Because PSU scored 3 of the last 4 drives and my argument is you put any middle or the road defense out there late in the game I bet it is the same outcome. The defense had 12 (or 10-12 I forget) turn over on downs.... The offense did not help this defense get rest.... The defense did its job.... Stopped Barkley and put pressure on Trace...... There were a couple of times where our d-line drilled the QB and somehow he got rid of the ball and it landed in a receivers hands.... I'm excited for this Saturday and excited to get to experience the Big house with my dad.

According to Jimmy H. Wilson Speights is questionable. Idk if that's him being Jimmy Khaki or what....but if the sources are true.... And he has a broken collarbone.....I don't see the kid playing the rest. I could see Harbaugh doing this so IU doesn't know who to prep for (even tho not sure how differnt O'Korn is.... Morris the #3 QB is more mobile...)

I realize that is one random snippet from the twittersphere, but if you haven't figured it out by now ( and I think you have), "smart" is one word that should rarely be used to describe the IUFB fanbase.

And before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, I am not saying that being critical automatically disqualifies one as a knowledgeable fan.   Bowl game in sight, that's what we all want.

lucel15, keep fightin the good fight my man. Nothing wrong with being optimistic about this team, and the future looks as bright as it has in a long time. On to Ann Arbor.

Go Hoosiers!

Lol thanks Johnson. I'll always be the first one to fight for IU football. I could care less about basketball. I'll root for them.... But never had the love for them like football. Probably because I played football, wrestled and ran track. Couldn't dribble with right hand so I gave up bball at like 5th grade
