This situation is strange. I assume he is done at IU, but wearing the full gear is a different choice.

Edit to clarify that Braden is with SwimSwam which is one of the biggest swimming news sites there is.

Yeah, that is probably a good assumption. He's been training with someone else (I don't remember where, west coast/CA, I think) since early in the season. Hasn't competed for IU. What's weird is how both he and Ray don't really give answers when asked. Such an odd situation.

The non answers are what really confuse me. People transfer and change training groups regularly. I don’t understand why neither side has said he’s stepping away from college to focus on LCM or something generic.

Not IU:

ASU destroyed the PAC-12 championships. I believe they won all but 2 events and set multiple records. They are so good, and it's not just Marchand.

I don't know if they tapered more than Cal for this meet. Probably did. I guess we'll see at the championship meet.

The women are tied for 7th after day 1 at the NCAA championship meet, mostly due to 5th in the 800 free relay. The relay had some great swims by the Hoosiers.

For day 2, they have 3 swimmers who will be swimming in the evening.

Anna Peplowski will be the 2nd seed in the 500 free A final.

Kristina Peagle and Ashley Turak will be swimming in the 50 free B final.

Sounds like they had a solid afternoon. Peplowski ended up 2nd and McKenna 6th. The team is in 7th.

Anyone know where they were projected to finish? The 5-10 range seems right to me but I’m not sure.

I think they were ranked 8th or 9th in the power ranking entering the meet. They (swimswam) usually base those on how they think teams will place at the meet.

Last day of the championship meet.

IU has 2 swimmers poised to score points in the 100 free. Peplowski is in the A-final and Peagle is in the B-final. Ching Hwee Gan will probably score points in the 1650, she's the 3 seed. IU is also the 9 seed in the 400 free relay.

Diving prelims are happening now but they should have at least 1 diver scoring points. Skyler Liu is the 12 seed entering prelims.

After an insanely fast day 1 at the NCAA championships, IU men are in 4th place with 52 points after finishing 6th in both the 200 medley and 800 free relays.

IU is +4 points from seed. They were the 8th seed in the 800 free relay and got 6th. So far, so good.

Miroslaw added 2 seconds to his prelims time and ended up 14th in the 500 free. Barr finished 10th in the 200 IM.

Henninger and Carson really helped the team by finishing 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in 1m diving. That is 33 points right there.

200 free relay finished 11th, up from their 16th seed.

IU is in 4th place after day 2. Before diving and the relay, they were in 6th place so those two events really helped, especially the diving. They are 1 point up on Texas. This wasn't expected to be a big one for IU, the next 2 days should see more scoring from the swimmers.

It looks like IU, Texas, and NC State are battling for 4th place.

On the day, IU was +17 in points scored compared to seeds entering the meet.
