I don't think a super star freshmen like Simmons makes college look bad at all, if any thing it provides the sport more attention.

It looks bad because it removes student from student-athlete. And I like Valentine, as well.

 

This is exactly it.  You have players who could care less about college, and just go because it's a requirement for 1 year.  Let the guys go to the NBA right away, or make them stay two years.
