If IU won the national championship next year it would be a freak accident and I would hire Brad ASAP! Would be great for Tommy because it would be easy for him to get the big payday from some other school willing to listen to his BS!

If he won it all, I'm going to have to go with it's not all BS. LOL.

Now - I'm all for getting Coach Stevens like yesterday.... I just don't see that happening.

Very big what if but since we are playing.  Get rid of him for Stevens because the future of IU basketball would be so much brighter in the long term and the buyout would be less at that time too. I can hardly stand watching Tom Creen basketball anymore.

Any coach at any level can have a spike.    There have been some very mediocre coaches win it all, and Mike Davis almost did.   It has to be about the long term health of the program in my mind, and you have to look at Crean's body of work to determine if you think he can or will win consistently.   He never has, so I think that question is answered.    I also don't think Indiana guards well enough to win a title; nor do we take enough quality shots or value possessions enough to do so; which (Ithink) makes this a straw man conversation.

But....if Indiana were to win it all next season, there's no way Crean would lose his job.    That's just the reality.   Failing that, if Brad Stevens will come to Indiana; we need to make that happen whatever it takes.  Nobody's a guarantee, but that guy's as close to a sure thing as has ever existed.   Think he couldn't put a brick wall around Indiana and build a consistent powerhouse?   The guy's a defensive genius with NBA credentials and a demeanor that's easy to play for.   If Indiana decides Crean needs to go, it's a one man list to replace him until we know for sure he won't come.
