Can Crean stay in Bloomington?

Recommended Posts

very interesting answer. He could have said many things but that's what he chose.

Who else would you expect him to say. All anybody that wants Crean gone says is let's wait for Stevens, how long can we wait for Stevens, how much would it cost to buy Stevens out. The phrase "Fire Tom Crean" is code for "I want Brad Stevens to be the coach at IU and I live in a fantasy world".

IMHO He should have been sent packing after last season. That being said, Money talks, and BS walks. I don't expect him to go anywhere anytime soon due to the huge buyout. Its a sad state of reality really....Glass sold the program down the river when he gave him the ridiculous 10 year contract. Kudos to Crean and his agent for setting that up. I feel deep down inside that CTC knows he is not a great coach. But why look a Jack@*& or gift horse in the mouth. So, no I don't think he goes anywhere, unless they could show cause as to why he broke his contract. i.e. recruiting violations, paying players, etc.

Do we have to go over this again and again... it doesn't matter whatsoever that Indiana hasn't "procured a single Rivals top 100 commitment." It really means nothing. Juwan Morgan and OG Anunoby are legitimate forward prospects. Where they are ranked has no bearing on their college career. Zero.

Juwan Morgan was severely underrecruited IMO. He needs weight in the worst way, but Indiana is going to help him there... there is a lot to like about his skill set moving forward for his position. He should be a mainstay the way Watford was at that position.

And I wouldn't read too much into those comments to Seth Davis. There isn't much doubt he rubs some people the wrong way, but that could be said about most college coaches. While I think there is a chance the uncertainty of the coaching situation (especially considering how visible the media mongering/fan outrage is) will impact recruiting... this staff has a lot of irons in the fire in 2016. 2015 was extremely down in Indiana with no McDonald's AA prospect as in previous years with Zeller, Ferrell, Blackmon (huh, Crean got all of those).

I think everyone can agree that winning ballgames is what will matter, even if you don't like the coach.

P.S. it's beyond me why anyone would "ask Goodman" anything related to the game of basketball.
