Cable Providers?

Version FiOS or Comcast Xfinity?

We are closing on our house next week and the area has the afore mentioned available tv/internet providers. I plan on buying some tivo units for the rooms so satellite dishes are eliminated.

I've had Comcast in the past and it was OK. Just OK. Not outstanding but not entirely lousy either. I've never had Verizon before. Anyone have any experiences worth sharing our feel strongly for/against one of the two? I appreciate any feedback.

Comcast was annoying to me because there were probably five of the same channel one for each viewing package and those were all included in the 1000+ channels so you really pay for the same thing over and over again

Oye. I really like DirecTv but really want the Tivo units too. I'm not sure whether to gamble my next two years w/Comcast or Verizon...but it sounds like there is much more disdain towards Comcast...

I LOVE directv... What does the TIVO boxes have that directv doesn't?

NattyHoosiers Cable Saga Continues....or hopefully comes to an end!

After having Comcast Xfinity for about 4 months we have made the change back to DirecTV.  Comcast is just as it was described, horrible.  The overall experience, customer service, quality of TV, etc.  The hold times to speak to someone were never less than 30 minutes, the results were underwhelming.  The TV picture kept becoming pixelated.  Worse then I'd ever had in the decade we were w/DTV in Denver.  The OnDemand menu often never worked.  It would just turn black.  We have to reset our box 2-3 times per week!  I probably reset my DTV box 2-3 times in a year or two span.  Luckily, when I signed up I made sure not to be under any contract.  So, it's back to DTV for us.  Looking forward to it actually.  It was worth the shot.  So dies my dream of the Tivo unit (only works w/cable providers).
