The Value of a Scholarship...

Recommended Posts

According to Fred Glass, the cost of a 4 year scholarship at IU for a student-athlete is

(drum roll)

$240,274 out-of-state/$135,766 in-state

That includes the following: Tuition, room/board, books, advisors, food outside board(probably per diem), medical, life training, summer school/5th year aid, computer/tech access, and apparel/equipment.

And the press release claims these are conservative figures.

All I say is that athletes get a nice gig. The medical, books, life training, summer school/5th year, computer and equipment. Summer school at Indiana college is VERY expensive and most schools in Indiana charge you a lot more if you study a 5th year. Not to mention the academic advising and tutoring that they receive.
